From the June 1977 issue of Crawdaddy, here are reviews of the latest albums from Bonnie Raitt and Rita Coolidge. Of course, they are compared to Linda Ronstadt, the singer against which most pop females were compared in that era.

Jon Pareles writes about “the long wait” between Bonnie’s “Home Plate” (1975) and “Sweet Forgiveness” (1977). The old days of (at least) an album a year. Pareles wrote more colorfully than he does now in the NY Times—“vampire nurse of song interpreters.”
