I found a couple of reviews from UK newspapers to post here. The first is from the Reading, Berkshire, England Evening Post, dated May 12, 1972. I will post the Heart Like A Wheel review tomorrow.

Honestly that is a FIRST. Even the critics who didn’t seem to appreciate some of her song selections or interpretations never failed to mention how truly remarkable her voice was. Bet we can’t find a single other reviewer or review where it gets said her voice isn’t great. Insane.

This was not a Skeeter Davis album, recorded in 1 to 3 days with studio musicians. This was recorded with her band.

The Bristol reviewer clearly had hearing problems but his comment about session musicians is no doubt based on the album notes with approx 30 musicians credited.
