I hope she recovers from this, given the fact that she seemed to be more than alright at the Golden Globes, seeing Austin Butler win an award for portraying her father (quite convincingly, in my opinion) for director Baz Luhrmann.

Yes, this is absolutely horrible! She would have turned 55 on February 1st.
I don't think mere words can do this story any justice, really.

I was totally stunned by this. I was watching videos of Lisa on TikTok on Sunday from Memphis, signing autographs for the fans and talking to them. Didn't seem like anything was wrong, though some stories suggested she didn't seem like she was her usual cheerful self. Prayers for her kids and for Priscilla as well as for Lisa. Rest in peace.

You just never know; and I'm not going to speculate as to the why of this.
I had heard some of her stuff on the radio when she had come out with her first album in 2003, when she turned 35; and I thought there was a fair amount of vocal stylization redolent of her father, which I think would have been unavoidable anyway. It was heartening, however, to be told by Lisa that Linda was a big influence on her as well, along with a whole host of others. She had to endure infinitely more heartache and tragedy than most of us will ever have to endure; and like the rest of us, including of course her father, she was only human, and, to paraphrase Jack Kennedy, she was also mortal.
If there is any consolation in all of this, it is that she is at peace with her father in heaven. I think that's all that one can ask for.

It seems to have been a culmination of many difficulties and struggles throughout her life. I don't think she ever recovered from the suicide of her son two years ago. Who ever really can overcome that type of grief and tragedy? Her prior drug use likely contributed to her heart disease, but dying that young is heartbreaking and very shocking.

Quote by PoP80:
All true. I think people get a very skewed idea that offspring of famous people have it so "easy"--the Nepotism Factor; but that is simply not the case. If anything, it had to have been infinitely harder for Lisa, given the incredible shadow her father cast (and still does, in no small part because of Baz Luhrmann's overwhelming film) over popular culture. Even with all the incredible tragedies she went through, starting with her parents' divorce when she was five, and her father's death when she was nine and a half, she still did a lot of good things on her own. It's just horrible that it ended way too soon for her, much as it ended way too soon for her father.

Have learned that it is possible to watch the memorial service for Lisa Marie Presley on the Graceland website (although the service has ended, the site the service can still be watched later) — Lisa Marie Presley service website/info
