They are very good. I love the song they recorded with John Beland, one of Linda's former band members. I wonder if John will be joining them?
Sounds like I hope he's there. I always liked this song and never heard that Linda and the band were thinking about it. RR did an excellent job. Thank you very much for posting, Holly!!! eddiejinnj

Ronstadt Review is playing Dec 10, 2022 in Hammonton, NJ at the Kathedral Event Center. Hammonton (the Blueberry Capitol of the World) is inland from the AC area pretty much Meaning not sure if due west. A good central location for AC Philly Cape May, maybe even northern Delaware fans. eddiejinnj

I am really digging the RR song and have been playing it. It is a very cool sublime song done very well. I hope the band had an excellent holiday yesterday.

Had an absolute blast at the concert and want to thank Ronstadt Review for a great time despite the fun tech difficulties which they handled very professionally. Great selection of songs. Free champagne at intermission (I wasn't driving). Great time. Happy New Year All. RR really rocked it with cool versions of "All That You Dream, You're No Good and PPPM (which they got the audience participating). They did "Blue Prelude" and I was in heaven. Bought a live cd of theirs with John Beland on it; a former Linda band member. Introduced myself to the guys and told them about the forum. Hope they check us out. eddiejinnj

Hi Eddie! Happy New Year to you, your family, and everyone on this wonderful forum. Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m truly grateful to you for spending your evening with us. I’m glad you enjoyed our show and had a nice chat with my band mates. Hopefully, next time I’ll get a chance to speak with you too. Thank you so much for purchasing our CD. We’re super proud of it. It’s such a blessing to know and work with John Beland. He’s an amazing and talented person and we will be touring together this March in the Bay Area and Northern California and again in October in Texas. Readers can see the details for those and other shows at our website www.ronstadtrevue.com. Thanks again and all best wishes!" Gesenia
Thank you all for the very kind words. I am the bassist for Ronstadt Revue, and a HUGE fan of Linda. I saw her many times back in the 70s at the Philadelphia Spectrum and the Robin Hood Dell. It's a real thrill for me to be a part of something that authentically reproduces those wonderfully days of yore, and we are so glad you guys are enjoying our labor of love (of Linda). Peace.

Dang, I'll be in FL then but you haven't seen the last of me lol!!!! Great inclusion of "Blue Prelude" in your set. The YNG jam was great. All the Best!!!
The band asked me to do a review of their album "Ronstadt Review Live at the Barnhill Center" which I purchased after the show NYE. I started listening to it but have to finish it. I hope I do as good a review as Erik would do. Hope to get it posted by end of weekend. The album includes an excellent array of 13 Linda songs and also includes "Can't find My Way Back Home" with John Beland. Stay tuned.... lol eddiejinnj
I am buying myself time but I have been listening to the RR cd in the car. I am formulating the review in my head (picturing how Erik would format it etc.). So far I am amazed at the quality of this album. To be continued...... eddiejinnj 5000
I started my homework lol and writing review on paper before I post. Not been feeling well lately but feeling better so I can focus on writing. eddiejinnj
Thank you so much, muse. That means a lot. I just can't focus lately and it is medication related so am working on it. I am bringing the RR cd with me to Florida tomorrow. I haven't forgot about review and have been listening to the cd a lot in the car. . This is the link to ronstadtreview.com. Thanks again, muse, for well wishes!!! eddiejinnj

Ronstadt Review Featuring Gesenia "Live at Barnhill Center" (2022 Las Nenas Productions Jim Cohen Producer) was recorded live on May 21, 2022 at the historic Simon Theater part of the center in Brenham, TX. Special Guest John Beland (former member of Lind'a band circa 1970)
Ronstadt Review is: Gesenia Gerena - Lead vocals Jim Cohen - Pedal Steel Guitar, 2nd Lead Guitar Nick Frese - Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals Dave Hartl - Keyboards and Accordion David Lenat - Lead Guitar Bob Leonetti - Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals Tim Reeder - Drums & Percussion, Backing Vocals
Excellent mix of Linda genres on the band's debut album.
Track Listing:
1) When Will I Be Loved
2) That'll Be the Day
3) It's So Easy
4) Long Long Time (with John Beland)
5) I've Got a Crush On You
6) Someone To Lay Down Beside Me
7) Frenesi
8) Silver Thread and golden Needles
9) Blue Bayou
10) Can't Find My Way Home (with John Beland)
11) Just One Look
12) You're No Good
13) Desperado
14) Back in the USA (with John Beland)
This set included the band performing "Can't Find My Way Home" live for the first time. The video version of this song has been included in this thread above. It is an excellent version of the Steve Winwood song. On the back cover of the cd, John Beland is quoted as saying that he would do this song with Linda back in the hotel room after gigs but they never got around to recording it.
The cd opens with WWIBL which a number of Linda's concerts opened with. Gesenia really expresses her respect for Linda's music and captures the passion Linda brought to songs.
I am glad the Spanish "Frenesi" was chosen as it is the title track of one of Linda's best albums in this writer's opinion.
The quality of musicianship is high throughout the concert and Gesenia respectfully acknowledges the band members' accomplishments.
She happily welcomes John Beland to play with the band and he plays on "Long Long Time", Can't Find My Way Back Home" and "Back in the USA".
The concert (I attended Dec. 31. 2022) was almost surreal for this writer as I got many of the same feelings I used to get at live Linda shows. I think it is because Gesenia "gets" Linda musically. I get the same feeling from this recording.
There is a great somewhat different intro to "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me" but it veers back into more Linda arrangement as the song starts. Done with great effect.
The band is excellent in recreating Linda's YNG lengthy jam as seen most recently on Linda's "Live in Hollywood" album.
Gesenia throughout is excellent in discussing Linda's career and putting her song choices in context.
If you want the real feel of a Linda concert this album delivers. Overall Rating: Excellent ej

Yes. I saw Ronstadt Revue last night at the Newberry Opera House. I must say it was a very good concert. They did a good job of covering Linda's career, focused mainly on the upbeat rockers. The lead singer, Gesenia, really shined on the tune Frenesi, and on Blue Prelude from the jazz album. She was a perfect 10 also on All That You Dream. I was apprehensive about how many people would show up for a Ronstadt tribute band, but they had a full energetic house. I was somewhat surprised they did no duets-- I thought they might pick one.
The songs were much like the set list above, except they did not do any What's New era songs. But they added Willin' and All That You Dream, as I mentioned above.

"South Carolina is too small for a republic and too large for an insane asylum." - James L. Pettigru (1789-1863)
I would guess that is John Beland in the photo above but it looks like Gram but his head was tilted down in photo. I am glad you had a great time, Boss!!! eddiejinnj
