The question must be asked. How did Don play the piano with his arm in a sling?

Quote by warren:
Quote by eddiejinnj:
Not that this matters, but there are two very popular 20th century classical instrumental concertos--the D Major concerto by Maurice Ravel, and Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 4--written for pianists who play with their left hands. And since it appears it is Don's right arm that's in a sling, yes, it's possible that he did play keyboards with his left hand for a time (IMHO).

If you click on lindaronstadtmusic and go to the Instagram page and scroll down there is a short video of Linda talking about her Mexican heritage. In response to this, a poster billyapt praised her for discussing this heritage but wished she would let the public know of her Jewish ancestry. I have never heard of this before and what side of the family or both is such heritage from (assuming that the poster was correct). Has anyone else seen this? eddiejinfl

I wonder if this is just a pipe-dream on the part of the account-holder to stir up things?

I believe this might be the origin of the Jewish ancestry:
In 1890, Ronstadt wed Sara Levin, daughter of Alexander Levin, proprietor of Levin’s Park and Brewery off Main Street. They would have children Luisa, Laura, Fred A. and Alicia.

Thanks, eddie and Pop. I guess I'm not sure how much Linda should be "taken to task" over this. Linda doesn't have much nice to say about the nuns who taught in Catholic schools and religion, in general, but she was brought up Catholic. On my Mom's side of family, the Norwegian side were all Lutherans. I wasn't raised with any of that. Linda doesn't seem to be the type of person who would deny it or run away from it, it's just probably not a big part of how she was raised and of her identity.

I guess it all depends how long one's family has been in the United States and how much a group assimilated either sub and/or consciously. I would say sociologically that different early immigrant groups did effect quote American culture; different traditions from different groups mixing and being absorbed.

So Sara Levin would be Linda's paternal great-grandmother, correct? Fred was Gilbert's father, tmk. I guess one could look how much influence culturally Sara had on her children. eddiejinfl

I too thought I read Linda mention some Jewish ancestry. For some reason I was thinking it came from her mom's side as her mom's mom was Hazel Berger. Berger is often a name associated with German, Dutch, Swedish, and Jewish ( Ashkenazic ). In fact, her mom's family line is rich in American history with some famous distant relatives, including George Bush whom we all know Linda loved so much. It's a small world as you go back in time.

Sarah was Fred Ronstadt's first wife who died. Sarah wasn't Linda's grandmother. Fred then married Lupe who was Linda's grandmother. So the Jewish bloodline didn't come from Sarah. It could have come from Hazel Berger's line, Lupe's line, Margarita's line, the Copeman line, or the Ronstadt line.

There were a lot of Jewish people in Germany pre WWII, Jewish Germans if you will.
