Seems like this years we have lost a lot of music artist this year then any other year I know. And the year isn't even over yet. When we lost Olivia Newton John I was heart broken to see the news and still am. Tried to listen to some of her music and videos today. It was not something I can do yet for at least two weeks or 3. I just hope we don't lose anymore.

The problem here, however--and it is unavoidable--is that all of these people that we grew up from the 1960's onward, and this included Olivia and it also includes Linda herself, I'm afraid, are not only aging, but aging seemingly and alarmingly fast (in Linda's case due to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy).
We often don't like to be reminded of our own mortality; but the unavoidable truth of the matter is that we will not live forever, and anytime someone in the public eye, like Olivia, passes on, we are reminded of it. We need to come to terms with that, and live our lives to the fullest. Mourn our heroes and heroines, like Olivia, when they pass on, but come to terms with the unavoidable, and live your live to its fullest. Linda herself said as much: "Life after death isn't the question; it's life before death. So how are you going to live? What are you going to do?"

I know everyone will die at some point. Even when you know someone is going to die soon it still never easy when someone you love dies. I know Olivia is at peace now and she has done amazing things and left this world a better place......

I was very sad when ONJ died, but it seems that despite her sunny disposition she's been suffering and in pain, very much so in the last few weeks. I'm pleased that she is no longer hurting.
Apparently she said quite recently that she'd accomplished more than she ever thought in her lifetime and that she wasn't afraid to die - but she's left a huge hole in the lives of her family, friends and fans.
Linda, Barbra and Olivia have been with me since my early teens .... I'm trying not to think about losing anyone else for a while.
