Great article. Thanks for posting, Erik. I do hope it happens. Trisha seemed more than excited :-). eddiejinnj

It's not hard to understand how giddy Trisha is of this actually happening. Linda obviously has had, and still does have, a ton of fans among her peers, but Trisha is almost certainly the most out-in-the-open about her admiration.

Trisha's husband Garth Brookes sang at Joe Biden's inauguration. I'm sure, had Linda been able to, she would have been there in person.
Trisha herself could of course fly to SF & cook something nice for Linda, in Linda's own kitchen.

Pretty sure by the photos of Linda’s little kitchen that were posted on line when the house was up for sale when she bought it that it would not accommodate cameras and crew needed to film a TV show.

If Linda can somehow manage the 2000-mile plane flight between San Francisco and Nashville, she will likely get a taste of the cooking that her biggest spiritual protégé has become known for:
wincountry.com/2021/06/11/trisha-yearwoods-cooking-up-something-special-for-her-hero-linda-ronstadt/[/a] They could cut the distance by 750 miles by having Trisha preparing dinner for Linda at her home (the one she shares with whats-his-name) in Oklahoma, up by Tulsa. And as long as they could keep whats-his-name away from the dinner, it would be a happy event. Living in Oklahoma myself, it would be me who would be happy if whats-his-name was not there as I would gladly be Linda's date for the event.

Garth would probably sneak into the kitchen after Trisha had prepared and eat all the food up, and then sneak out without anyone having seen him. He's got a love affair with food and he likely packs as many pounds as what I have on me. Only physical difference is I'm about a half foot taller than he is. I wish I had his bank book, though. .

I think Linda long ago got so jaded with stardom that it wouldn't bother her that there would be a proverbial 800-pound gorilla in the room if she and Trisha were to gab about the notions about cooking, music-making, and the adventures of being chick singers.

then we could all see Linda's vibe and space (if she wants to share a bit of it)
So much easier on Mamacittahhh!!

It's my guess that Garth and Trisha are sending their private jet to pick Linda up and return her to San Francisco when she travels to Nashville to tape Trisha's show. Linda said Trisha offered when Linda was doing an interview at Kennedy Center Honors when asked about Trisha Yearwood. I would think in Linda's condition a commercial flight would be really difficult and uncomfortable.

Linda said Trisha offered when Linda was doing an interview at Kennedy Center Honors when asked about Trisha Yearwood. I would think in Linda's condition a commercial flight would be really difficult and uncomfortable. Airlines generally make accomodations for patients to make a flight easier. Than can include fixing up a section of the plane if a patient needs to lay down. Still, Linda couldn't make her brother Michael's funeral when he passed and I'm guessing that was because the airline didn't have enough time to make an accomodation. And I think Linda prefers to travel by train. With passenger airlines, one never knows when one is going to hit a pocket of turbulence or if the flight will have to be re-routed because of a storm. But, if Linda was going to fly to Nashville to eat dinner with Trisha by request of Trisha, it would probably be better to take a commercial flight than taking a private jet. There have been fewer crashes with commercial jet airliners in the US than there have been with private jet airliners. I don't think a commercial jet airliner has crashed in the US in over a decade. Private jets, however, are another matter.

I don't know what Linda's eating involves these days.
Linda needs to sit up or be active for as long as she can, without laying down. Laying down for a long period of time is not good for Linda, health wise, or for any patient. Many people with serious, life threatening illnesses risk developing pneumonia as a result of staying in bed too long.
As for what Linda is eating, well, I think her doctors watch over her dietary habits and I think she requires assistance when eating certain foods. If it's a food which requires being finely cut or chopped so that Linda can eat the food easily, if it's not cut or chopped to where she can eat it, she could instead choke on the food instead. And that would be something which could kill her fast. And that's something we don't want to see happen.

Copied the below from a page regarding the stages of PSP. With discussion on Linda and food, one can determine what Linda's current stage might be. And just remember, while some of Linda's symptoms point to one stage, it's possible she may be in another stage altogether. The evidence may point to Linda's symptoms as lining up with mid-stage but she could be in the advanced stage. Any symptoms which developed in one stage will still be present in the next stage.
Best Practice in PSP PSP Association (UK) 2012
Early stage: May present via the fracture clinic, falls services, eye specialist or speech and language therapist. The early stage typically spans years 0-1.
Ambulant. Occasional falls. Unsteadiness and poor balance. Possible visual problems affecting ability to read. Voice changes, for example reduced volume. Mood changes. Reduced socialising. Changes in mood and behaviour, including apathy and anxiety.
Mid stage: Many people reach this stage before diagnosis. Consider discussing advance care planning and advance decisions to refuse treatment. Consider referral to palliative care services. The mid stage typically spans years 2-3.
Ambulant with aids. High risk of falls and injury. Visual problems affecting self-care abilities, for example eating and walking as unable to move eyes to see. Speech increasingly unintelligible. Inability to initiate conversation. Impulsivity (risky or impulsive behaviour). Apathy. Dysphagia. High level of supervision required. Increasingly socially withdrawn.
Advanced stage: Patients should be on GP palliative care register and have access to specialist palliative care. The advanced stage typically spans years 3-6.
Mobility significantly compromised, probably chair bound requiring a wheelchair for mobility. Significant visual problems. Significant muscle stiffness. Significant communication problems, but probably still able to understand. High risk of aspiration and pneumonia as a result of dysphagia. Pain. Increasing periods of sleepiness. Incontinence. Severely withdrawn socially. Dependent for most or all aspects of care.
End of life stage: This stage is difficult to detect, but may be indicated by reduced levels of consciousness, inability to eat or drink, acute infection, a fall or major fracture, and rapid and significant weight loss. The end of life stage typically spans 6-8 weeks.
Severe impairments and disabilities. Rapid and marked deterioration in condition. Decisions with regard to treatment interventions may be required, considering an individual’s previously expressed wishes (advance decisions to refuse treatment).

Linda was supposed to guest on Trisha’s cooking show this season but the season has come to an end. Her show has two seasons a year so maybe Trisha said/meant this year which would include her second season of the year. That would make sense with Linda’s book coming out sometime later this year. I heard Linda’s book had some recipes in it. I sure hope it happens.

Hey Fab! -- October 4, 2022 is the scheduled date for the release of the book "Feels Like Home." Bread is one thing Linda says she can and tmk likes to do. I think I had gotten a bread machine in the early 90's, then never used it at all or much. Well, we still have dough biscuits to bake and smell the house up. I am too young and suburban to have come from a regular baking bread family generation, overall that is. There are those that bake their own bread today. I think my grandmother made bread at times (on the farm as we called it) in Monmouth County. Have a great day all!!! eddiejinfl

Never liked ready meals & eating out was & is too expensive.

I LOVE potato bread. The shopping list when I lived at Rutgers the one year was tuna, cheese doodles (big bag), saltines, maybe bologna. Anything cheap. I worked at Rutgers in the dining hall one year and Franco Harris' brother was manager of Brower Commons Hall. I was no go to spring break baby. I worked breaks and while in school. eddiejinfl

eddie, you are much better at this than I am. Maybe you could persuade "Holly" that instead of being a guest she can become a member of this Forum. Holly is quite a frequent contributor. It would be nice to have had the ability to send her a private message. Thanks.

If it is ever going to happen it will be this season. I am not sure her show was picked up again by Food Network. I would imagine it has but I have heard nothing about an upcoming season.
