Yes, this is becoming a horrible thing to see happen. And it is also a continuing reminder of our own mortality as well (IMHO).

Yes, this is becoming a horrible thing to see happen. And it is also a continuing reminder of our own mortality as well (IMHO). Hopefully, many have heard now that reports of Tanya's death were greatly exaggerated, thank God! However, she is still considered to be not out of the woods just yet. Her boyfriend (whom they keep identifying now as her husband) misunderstood nurses telling him it was time to say goodbye. He reported to Tanya's publicist she had passed and more than likely, the nurses meant visiting hours were over. What a schlimiel! I'm guessing he's now compounding his embarrassment by now claiming he's her husband. I think what he should do is just go somewhere and hide out until she recovers and goes home. And then go see her. Maybe. The pain he caused her family, friends and fans. If Tanya had been my girlfriend, I would've been too embarrassed to have shown myself in public after such a debacle. But, again, thank God she is still with us and I hope she continues to keep being with us!

Now official. Tanya's death is truly tragic. Feel as though I've been on a roller coaster with regard to her illness and death since it was first reported. She's in my prayers tonight, that she is at peace.

The next time it happens (because we all know it will, but I shudder to think to whom), people better get their facts straight before making such a heartbreaking public announcement.

The next time it happens (because we all know it will, but I shudder to think to whom), people better get their facts straight before making such a heartbreaking public announcement. What I would hope is that the news media, before they actually announce the death of a beloved actor singer, is that they verify any announcement as factual before they announce it. I remember when Rick Nelson died December 31, 1985 because of a fire on board his plane, his mother Harriet, saw a news bulletin on TV announcing he had been killed before she could be notified. That zeal to be first can be cold and callous, and it serves no useful purpose.
