That should have been cover. Hands down, imo. Crop it just over the top of her head and the lighting shows barely. Great pic. Thanks!!! eddiejinnj P3113

Quote by eddiejinnj re. Linda/Jennifer Warnes pic:
Unless anyone can find other pics of the two of them together, this is the only one I know of. That one is likely from 1976.

Looking at pic now, it seems partially double exposed. See the slight arcs of light on Linda's jacket. They repeat all over the pic. eddiejinnj

And of course, Linda has so often said that she never thought she looked all that great in her life, always considering herself average. But even though that may be true, in my opinion, that's the point.

The first photo, wearing the cap, appeared in the NY Times John Rockwell review of "Simple Dreams" (August 26, 1977--see "Linda Ronstadt Album Reviews 1969-1999" on this site). Pretty sure that she's wearing the notorious Rolling Stone cover red slip. More of Linda at her late 1970's apex:

Linda in 1982 ( Get Closer outtake): Linda as she is now, as we are at the end of 2020: I think the Get Closer outtake is the one they should've used for the album's front cover. It was a much better photo than the one they used. And it made the white background with red dots more tolerable. And the photo of Linda today, she's looking good, all things considered. It appears she has lost a lot of weight, which I hope is a good thing. With her illness, who knows? She looks a little like my late aunt. I wish she would let her hair grow out so that wasn't the case.

I agree re: the Get Closer photo. Also the red earring becomes a focal point and coordinates without over-powering. Great photo!!! eddiejinnj

The beauty of the shot they chose for get closer was that it was full body and they were able to wrap it around the other side of the album cover. It’s one of the best Linda Ronstadt album covers, after Simple Dreams, HDTW and Lush Life. But you have to have the vinyl to really appreciate them.

You can't leave out Prisoner In Disguise as one of her best covers IMO. Conveys the title perfectly.
