Linda singing "Desperado", with a slight softening, at the end of a Japanese tour concert.

According to Wikipedia, Linda is on the album that has "Through the Bottom of My Glass" entitled The Old Train. You can hear her clearly at the end of the song especially. eddiejinnj

What can be found are pre-album live performances of songs, which are simpler, less produced & to me more appealing, versions, "Linda Unplugged".
I have become fond of those versions, both radio & filmed, as they fit a different mood & also make Linda's singing more personal.

"Carnival Bear" is available on CD, its included in the "20 Years of Bear Family" 4 CD set (all the songs are about bears). But the track individually can be bought from Amazon as a MP3. The recording is in mono, as the earliest 2 Stone Poneys were to begin with.

I have the 45. Nice sleeve for it. I'll have to try and remember to look up the Bear cd set. Sounds interesting. eddiejinnj

Is there a recording of this SNL skit
FADE IN on Julia-Louis Dreyfus dressed and posing like Linda Ronstadt. The words, What's New–Nelson Riddle and His Orchestra frame the shot, exactly like Ronstadt's album of the same name. The background music to the title track plays, and Julia begins to sing live.]
Linda Ronstadt: [singing]What's new? How is the world treating you? I made the big bucks fast, Since I have learned to rip off the past.
What's new? In four years, I'll be 42, And music's just a game, A silly riddle, Nelsons his name.
[Julia sits up] Linda Ronstadt: [singing] What's old? Records I make turn to gold, And though the income's grand, The songs I sing, I don't understand, Thank God for the band.
What's next? This old backup singer's perplexed. [coyly] I sing old songs for you, Cause I can't do what's new!
[ZOOM back to show Julia leaning back and posing as before, and then the same album frame appears around the shot.]

"Stay Away", by Toto, from their 1988 album The Seventh One, features Linda on the chorus (the group's lead singer at the time was Joseph Williams, whose father is one John Williams, arguably the most famous composer of film music in the history of the world):

Rocked out on the above song earlier. She sounds great. It really is a catchy rock tune. eddiejinnj
