My guess is time will be taken throughout the documentary on how she is dealing with her health decline.

No nabobs here. Wait, what are nabobs? I absolutely cannot wait for this Linda Documentary. I'm sure there will be omissions from her life still, but I'll watch diligently, many times, to reminisce about her glory days, and the ways her voice enhanced--and continues to enhance our lives. There are very devoted, knowledgeable Linda Ronstadt fans on this Forum, who have researched and analyzed, read and discussd Linda's life regularly for years. Moreso than the general public. Still, we have questions about Linda's notoriously private life. We'll settle for nothing less than a true and complete biography, but it looks like again, we'll get exactly what she wants us to see. And that's OK too. Here is an article about Linda's recent visit to Banamichi, Sonora, Mexico. James Keach was also there, filming footage for the documentary. This documentary obviously has her blessing--and input. Tucson ArticleSame story, in case you have ad-block or sign-in issues on Tucson: NY Dispatch Article
Edit: I just noticed Ronstadtfanaz already posted the LA version as well. But this part of the article almost made me cry! She CAN still sing:
Linda sat in her chair on the sidelines, listening intently as Bobby and Petie’s voices locked in tight two-part harmony.
Soon, however, a visitor seated next to her heard an angelic harmony gently gliding above the two male voices – an intimate encore from the voice that launched at least a thousand heartthrobs and heartaches decades ago.
The next day, during a lunch break on the bus trip back to Tucson, between sips of caldo de queso soup at one of several plastic tables set up for guests next to a creek in the town of Bacoachi (bah-KWAH-chee), Ronstadt again quietly hums in exquisite harmony as Bobby and Petie sing “El Camino,” another traditional passed down through the family by Gilbert and Edward Ronstadt.
“This is the latest iteration of this song,” Bobby said. Linda reminds a reporter seated next to her that she recorded her own version on “Mas Canciones” that also featured her brother Michael, who died in 2016, at 62, after battling liver cancer.

They used to rerun it a few times back in the day. I remember gluing myself to the TV (well, that was the case whenever she was on TV I must admit) every time I caught it. She had the Dorothy thing down with the outfit. What legs!!!! Johnny really seemed to like her and helped push her career. eddiejinfl

The clips I've seen this seems to be a tongue-in-cheek look at Linda's career, a mockumentary in the style of This Is Spinal Tap!

Maybe that was a preliminary version used to enter the film festival? It is confusing. Personally I am just happy for a documentary about the greatest female vocalist of our generation. Having it released before we are all dead is even better.

Some people should just go offline on April 1. Linda fans have a sense of humor but don't be messing with their minds about her first documentary.

It sounds like something I would do and the joke I had planned would not have gone over well so I passed on my prank for this year.

With one of the most memorably stunning voices that has ever hit the airwaves, Linda Ronstadt burst onto the 1960s folk rock music scene in her early twenties. The lead singer of the Stone Poneys, Ronstadt eventually branched out to begin her decades long career as a solo artist, touring the world selling out stadiums and, at one point, setting the record as the highest paid female artist in rock. Most remarkable to this day is her interest in and willingness to jump into new and challenging styles of music, including opera, jazz, and Mexican folk, excelling fantastically with each. Ronstadt has also been an outspoken political advocate for causes such as same-sex marriage and the inhumane treatment of undocumented immigrants, never shying away from fighting for what she believes both on and off the stage.
Filled with rare photos from her childhood in Tucson and wonderful archival footage from her iconic performances, as well as moving testimonials by luminaries like Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton and Bonnie Raitt, Ronstadt’s own voice narrates her journey all the way to her retirement in 2011 due to Parkinson’s disease. In the deft hands of directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman and producers James Keach and Michele Farinola, we are treated to a poignant biopic about a truly one of-a-kind artist.

I think they have said it will be on CNN following its showing at Tribeca. I also think that a DVD release is inevitable; but a theatrical release first wouldn't hurt (IMHO).

Maybe PBS will pick it up. Linda has been on Great Performances several times although I am not sure it fits that exact format. If it appears on youtube you had better download quite fast for your own viewing purposes. If Linda is feeling better maybe she could use it on a tour. Show the film first and then appear afterwards for some reflections, questions and answers.

I deleted it, muse. I clicked on it and it seemed to be a tourism thing or something about NY but I didn't see any Tribeca Top Ten. I guess we can look it up to see if it exists. No offense to guest if this list was there and not now but since muse and I didn't find anything relevant there, I felt safe thing for site and members was to delete. Eddieinnj The 10 best movies at Tribeca Film Festival 2019 <~~~~~~~~~ Copy and paste and will give links to site. It just must be at some different location on the same site. Like I said no offense guest. Even when I hit music on guest link page still was not there.

You did it!!!! Thanks Guest. Copy and pasting I can do but I can never make such links. For me, it seems to happen when I type out a phone number in some places it creates a link but on purpose I seem to always forget. Well, I can look at it that it is more brain space for Linda facts, etc. :-) eddiejinnj
