Rita, who is an L.A. native and resident, was a ticket taker at the Universal Amphitheatre back in the day; and so she got to see a lot of Linda there. This was one of those times when she got to finally pose right alongside her.

We as avid fans know the history of the cover but it is good to note for others who see your post. The story aside, it is a great cover. Those that want to explore the cover's issues can probably google "ronstadt red lingerie rolling stone cover leibovitz". eddiejinnj
