I went to Linda's Tucson show at the Fox--very interesting with multimedia clips and lots of stories. Linda was in great form. John Boylan was helping with some of the initial technical glitches in getting some of the audio to play (Linda played an earlier acoustic version of Different Drum, then played a clip from the released version.) There were clips of her singing with her brothers, of her father singing, Lalo Guerrero singing, etc. She had a couple of #Red for Ed signs on the stage with her, in support of the teachers, who are still on strike here in Tucson. Both the Scottsdale and Tucson shows were sold out.

I am not a big computer person but you can rt click on the pic. Then left click on copy and then go to an open quick reply box in this thread or one you want to put pic on. Then put cursor in this area and right click and and you should see paste. Then left click on paste while the cursor is in this open field and it should put it there. If anybody has a better way, feel free to let it be known!!!! Welcome back macbanshee!!!! eddiejinnj

I was at the show in Scottsdale. It's wonderful to see Linda on stage... or just to be able to see her at all at this point. The show really isn't much. She blasts through this slideshow and doesn't seem to be very into it. Matter of fact, very little of the presentation is about her career. It's largely about Mexican music and her family. Much like the autobiography, if you know anything at all about Linda's career, nothing is learned. The interesting part of the show comes with the Q&A at the end. Most people ask idiotic questions - advice you would give to young people... was it hard being a woman... etc. Someone did ask if she was friendly with Jerry Brown and she mentioned that Jerry had called her earlier than day to say hello and ask a few questions about Parkinson's. At the end of the evening, Linda goes "is that the last question? good." and she gets up and leaves. It just seems like she doesn't want to do this at all, it's just a money grab.

There are several images on Instagram from both events. Just search #lindaronstadt . It's too difficult to post images on the forum here to make it worth anyone's time.

Aha--you can't do it as a quick post. You have to hit reply and add an attachment. Here's a pic from backstage in Tucson 4-30-18. Attachments:

Very bold hairstyle for her considering hers as of late. It has been getting a little shorter if I remember correctly but this more drastic. Shows off those eyes!!!!! I think John should maybe get some new photos or vids to put in the presentation. I know Linda would have to explain them but just mix it up a bit. Beneficial for the Linda and the audience. Not sure how long she is going to do these shows. I have been to three of these kind of shows. eddiejinnj

This morning on NPR's KJZZ's Morning Edition they announced a segment about Linda Ronstadt to begin at 6:43 am who recently appeared in Scottsdale Arizona. It wasn't so much of a review as it was a tribute by recent forum guest Robert Pela. I wanted to post the audio as it is usually available on NPR but I couldn't find it. I am not sure if it is a local thing or was on the national NPR edition. Most likely local which is why I couldn't find it. Maybe it will show up. If it does I will post it. He chose some snippets of rarely heard Ronstadt gems that non fans wouldn't know. I thought that was a good move as it showed the quality of Linda's music outside of the hits. Robert also has a way with words. Fans will like the segment and others will be educated and reminded what a talent Linda was and what a treasure she is. Not to be forgotten!

One person at the Tucson show asked Linda what current singers she thought were good (or something like that). The one she talked most about was Sia.

RONSTADT'S 'SELECTIVE' LIFEAiling star plans limited return to the public eye
linda-ronstadt
Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease five years ago, Linda Ronstadt can no longer sing and her speaking voice has been reduced to "a monochromatic near-whisper," according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
But the former pop and country music idol, now 71, still has plenty to say.
Ronstadt will host "A Conversation with Linda" in September at three venues in Northern California. The itinerary: September 15 at Dominican University of California, San Rafael; September 21 at Folsom Lake College in Sacramento County; and September 29 at Mountain Winery in Saratoga.
Following up on recent appearances in Phoenix and her native Tucson, Ronstadt will discuss her heralded career as one of the most iconic voices of the 1970s. In addition to entertaining questions from the audience, the singer of Top 10 hits like "You're No Good," "Heat Wave" and "Blue Bayou" will show video highlights and play excerpts of her best-known songs.
"You have to have a life, but I have to be very selective about what I do," said Ronstadt, explaining her decision to return to the public eye.
Ronstadt hasn't released an album since 2006's "Adieu False Heart," a collaboration with Ann Savoy. Her last concert was in San Antonio, Texas, in 2009, when she was already experiencing tremors and fretting over the deterioration of her voice.
"I have a hard time talking, and traveling is ridiculous," Ronstadt said. "It's just the nature of the beast."
She credits another celebrity afflicted with Parkinson's disease for her decision to reemerge in public, albeit on a limited basis.
"Michael J. Fox told me, 'I make plans, and I keep them.'"
