I don't have a good third party hosting site so I am not sure how these posts will turn out. Might just be links at best.
Because photobucket has screwed everyone over that used their free services to post photos and won't give them back I find it necessary to re-post many of those I have done on the past 14 photos threads. Fortunately I didn't only keep them saved there. Many are on my hard drive or peripherals. And so with this thread I will begin that process.

The pictures turned out great! The first, with Linda facing the bank of mics, is remarkable. You can really see and even feel how uncomfortable she is. Given her well known shyness it is amazing (and gutsy) that she got into what is clearly a terrifying situation.

Those are wonderful photos Erik. Who do you use for your third party hosting for photos? Or do you just rely on the site by clicking properties and hope it works? (which is what I did with these) Photobucket which used to be free now wants $400 a year to turn my previously posted photos back on. Highway robbery. No warning whatsoever.

I do the second one, and, as you say, hope that the links work. I am always looking out for some pics of Linda that I hope no one's seen at least, pardon the reference, "for a long long time".

Such a natural beauty.. and she sure does like her bling! Oh and.. In this day and age can you imagine Beyonce or any other pop star wearing a gingham checkered cheapy thrift store top and shorts like Linda is wearing (on stage?)But she sure does pull it off and look cute!

Quote by Dianna re. Linda's fashion sense vs. today (Beyoncé, etc.):
Linda described her fashion sense in her memoir as being "hippie chic", which I can believe. And while some cynics may suspect that it is a sign of Linda's "frugality" (or "cheapness", if you want to be less PC), given that she ended up on Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dressed lists twice at the apex of her career in the late 1970s, I tend to think of it more as cultivating an onstage image that is closer to the reality of part of who she really was. And if you look at so many of her fellow female peers since the 1970s, they seem to have taken a certain amount of their fashion sense from her.
And one of the things I think separates Linda from Beyoncé is that Linda never flaunted her wealth and her bling in everyone's face like Queen Bey seem to do so often. I mean, if you feel like the only way to feel empowered is to flaunt everything, then you are on one hell of a slippery slope (IMHO).

I mean, if you feel like the only way to feel empowered is to flaunt everything, then you are on one hell of a slippery slope (IMHO). I'm not being cynical when I describe Linda's blouse as cheap ..Earlier in her career, I've read Linda was not fond of clothes shopping and even admitted to buying clothes at thrift stores to wear on stage.. a millionaire, with designer labels at her disposal, I imagine .. She just wasn't into it...When I mention beyonce or other pop singers, now or then , I am simply making a comparison that while beyonce's is very thought out and deliberate whereas Linda's wasn't yet she still managed to look very beautiful and put together, quirky, as I've described her look before.I'm not knocking beyonce or the "flaunitng." that is her image, which seems to work very well for her and there is nothing wrong with that either.. (not sure what you mean by slippery slope?) Again, Aside her music and voice, I only meant Linda managed to create an image without much an effort!

Mind you, Dianna, I in no way want to imply that you're a cynic, only that others outside Linda's fanbase might be, when it comes to her accoutrements.
I do agree quite a lot that Linda created an image without much of an effort. And I think at least part of it, if not indeed all of it, could be because it was an image she could live up to in reality, something that isn't exactly easy to do.
I recall the words of a mega-famous performer who remarked at a New York City press conference back in 1972: "The image is one thing and the human being is another. It's very hard to live up to an image." And unfortunately, that mega-famous performer passed away forty years ago tomorrow.

Turns out he is (was?) a DJ at radio station WHFS. His name is Don "Cerphe" Colwell. I just happened to be looking thru old threads and came upon this picture. The thread is a few down from the top titled " The Linda Ronstadt Scrapbook" There is a whole thing about WHFS along with a lot of other cool stuff in that thread. Attachments:

Thanks, moe!!!!! I thought it may be Kid Rock's dad (just kidding). The pic with Karla and Kenny, of course, irks me because out of the three names listed, Linda's is of course spelled wrong. I like the blonde guy's stach. I think we conjectured (maybe confirmed?) this was Linda's bodyguard with benefits kind of thing. I remember where they were pictured with him standing behind her with his arms around her let's say "very affectionate looking". The white outfit with the long laced sleeves looks really cool on Linda. eddiejinnj

Since that darned photobucket who promised to always 3rd party host for free reneged throwing millions of people's photos offline unless we pay them $399 I decided to repost some of them. Hopefully this new site I am using won't do the same but there is a limit to space they allow. I will start with the less familiar photos like this one.I was trying to determine if the above house and yard might be J.D.'s on Gower St. below? Lots of similarities. As it turns out the above house was a house Linda stayed at in South Africa during her Safari with the band. There are Safari photos with the same blouse that would confirm that.Oddly enough it looks a LOT like the blouse Linda is wearing in the roller skate photo below next to Kosh.
