I agree, I actually do know the address but after the discovery; it felt wrong. I had thought that maybe she would enjoy a card or letter from her fans but also realized that she would no doubt be horrified that fans knew her address.

Hello!
I am curious.. I've seen Linda's childhood home location mentioned as being along Prince Rd in Tuscon but was curious if anyone knew exactly where it was. I like to try and guess stuff like this with Google earth and some sleuthing.. not much else to do with my health like it is.. and then confirm if my guesswork.. worked. But this one has me kind of stumped. I know it was torn down and probably development has occurred since then, but going on a newspaper article it suggests Gilbert and family lived on what was called Lot 4, part of the original 80 acre ranch on the northwest corner of North Tuscon Boulevard and East Prince Rd. It says Lot 4 became 'La Cabana', and Lot 3 where Linda lived was to the southwest of that, and that both were located between Jackson Ave and Tuscon. I found a modern looking subdivision just north of the Tuscon/Prince intersection, maybe named after the original property, called Las Cabanas. I'm thinking it was where Jackson turns into a dirt dead end.
Does anyone know the old address? Just wondering if my guesswork was right. Many thanks!

Queen Anne's Revenge, again?
In announcing the birth of Michael Ronstadt in 1953, the local paper listed the Ronstadt's address as 2301 East Prince Rd.

Queen Anne's Revenge, again? In announcing the birth of Michael Ronstadt in 1953, the local paper listed the Ronstadt's address as 2301 East Prince Rd. Heh! Pretty much everything name wise is taken with Gmail. Had to get 'creative' Many thanks for the address! My sleuthing skills appear to have held up, mostly. With that info I was clearly in the right area. Pinpointing exactly where the house was seems to have been relatively easy from there. I found a photo of 'La Cabana', the house Linda's grandparents lived in (I believe) which was pulled down sometime after 2017. It has a distinctive shape and it and it's large garage show up well on historical Google maps. I believe there is a photo of Linda on a pony in front of that garage, which I mistakenly thought belonged to her parents' home. The area was streetviewed as far back as 2008.. can kind of see La Cabana poking out behind all the brush. That became 'Las Cabanas'.. a new subdivision with streets named in honor of family members. Using Google maps' historical maps if one goes back to 1997 Gilbert's house appears to be still there to the south west. At least, I think i see it.. its another squarish blob. I believe that house was a fair size although maybe not as big as La Cabana. Lot 3 seems to have been subdivided a long time ago and the spot the Ronstadt house occupied appears to be occupied by the third or fourth house on the east side of Sunterra CT. The whole area looks vastly different now. I don't know why I find that kind of thing so interesting. Just love history. It is fascinating to see how an area changes over the years, especially things that got captured in streetview, allowing you to time travel a bit. Too bad it wasn't around many decades ago. Amazing to think it was all part of an 80 acre parcel a century ago.

Many new people coming here might not be familiar with Spirit. They have been a topic in regards to a lawsuit from Randy Kalifornia's estate and Led Zeppelin. Topanga Canyon was fertile grounds for music and art though most of the attention has been given to Laurel Canyon. I think there are lots of canyons in and around Los Angeles. It just depends what side of the hill or mountain you live on. Looks like Val was witness to the birth of one of the most iconic songs ever written. Back in the 1970's every wannabe guitarist practiced using that song. The courts ruled for Led Zeppelin but you be the judge.Spirit vs Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven Plagiarism LawsuitPosted by Shawn McNulty on May 20, 2014 Spirit vs Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven Plagiarism Lawsuit2019-02-08T20:04:38+00:00under Similar Songssongsalike.com/similar-songs/spirit-vs-led-zeppelin-stairway-to-heaven-plagarism-lawsuit/One of the most popular songs in music history is being questioned for plagiarism in an upcoming court case. Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin may have ripped off the song Taurus by the band Spirit which was released in 1968. The lawsuit is coming from the estate of the late Randy California who wrote the song for Spirit, and it’s no coincidence that this is happening right before of the release of a remastered version of Led Zeppelin IV. Francis Alexander Malofiy, the attorney for Spirit, will attempt to get a songwriting credit for California on the song. Stairway to Heaven, which is worth an estimated $560 million, can be heard on every classic rock station in the world and even was famously denied by Wayne Campbell at the guitar store in the first Wayne’s World movie.
Jimmy Page supposedly wrote the song (which he refers to as his baby) using the powers of black magic and candles in 1970. Randy California died in 1997 when he saved his son from drowning in Hawaii. Before his death, he told Listener magazine that he believed that Led Zeppelin ripped him off, and was pretty miffed about it. Both bands were on similar bills in the late 60s, so it’s very probable that Jimmy Page heard Taurus during that time. Listen to the audio clip of Taurus via the YouTube video below and you will hear that iconic guitar magic. It would be difficult to nail down who initially came out with this very basic chord progression, probably somebody before 1968, but this could be a giant payday for the Randy California family. Maybe they will sing the got $5000 song like Wayne and Garth did in the movie, but add some zeroes to it.
I love connections. What do Jimmy Page and Barbara Bush have in common? Page was a fan of Alistair Crowley and even bought his house and Barbara's mother and Crowley were close...so much so it is rumored that Crowley was Barbara's biological father. Crowley was into some heavy mystical, magical...dark stuff. That might explain the 2000 presidency as it was quite a topic at the time. carwreckdebangs.wordpress.com/2015/06/09/aleister-crowley-jimmy-page-and-the-curse-of-led-zeppelin-when-myth-magick-and-weird-facts-collide/
See what you think:
Here is a new wrinkle to me (Cry Me A River):
There are also questions about Jethro Tull and Eagles but Anderson puts things into perspective, at least for him...
Joe Walsh goes a step further here. I recall Linda Ronstadt saying many times she would steal the "licks" from other musicians when she could and that she "stood" on the shoulders of those before her.

I love reading this kinda of stuff and this is such a great read. Thank you for sharing, Mark Anthony
