Listen To The Eerie Sound That's Freaking Out An Oregon Town (greatly annoys my cats and makes me feel ill)An eerie flute-like sound is driving citizens of one Oregon town bananas.
Aliens, ghosts and leaking gas pipes have all been touted as possible explanations for the high-pitched, whistle-like note heard at random times in Forest Grove over the past few weeks. But residents can't figure out where it's coming from, and experts are equally stumped.
Here's what it sounds like:
The noise strikes at all times of the day and night, and lasts from 10 seconds to several minutes.
"I've been woken up three or four times," local resident Colleen Ahrens told KATU. "It almost sounds like someone needs to change their brakes."
Fire, police and public works officials have investigated the noise that's plaguing the community of 22,500, about 25 miles west of Portland, but to no avail.
Forest Grove Police Capt. Mike Herbs said if someone was making the noise on purpose, then it was a city ordinance violation.
"At this point, we don't have information that would lead us to believe that's the case," Herbs told The Washington Post.
He added that some people thought the sound could be "an alien mother ship or a warning sign of something to come."

Missing Henry McCabe | Posted October 23, 2015 | Minneapolis, Minnesota
Henry McCabe is missing from Mounds View, Minnesota. Henry was last seen at a gas station on September 7th, 2015 in Fridley, Minnesota. Henry left a very disturbing voicemail message to a family member and authorities have asked the Public to assist in searching for Henry McCabe. Volunteers have held searches in the area where Henry was last seen, and a $10.000.00 reward is offered for information leading to the whereabouts of Henry McCabe. Henry is a State Auditor, a husband, and a father.
follow-up:
Body found in lake is missing Mounds View man Henry McCabe Henry McCabe, husband and father of two, had not been seen since Labor Day.
A body found Monday afternoon in a north-metro lake was identified Tuesday as that of 32-year-old Henry McCabe, a Mounds View resident who was reported missing on Labor Day.
McCabe’s death “does not appear to be suspicious,” but the cause remains undetermined pending toxicology results, said Police Chief Tom Kinney.
The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office confirmed that it was McCabe’s body that was found by a kayaker about 4:20 p.m. Monday on Rush Lake in New Brighton.
Kinney said the medical examiner found no signs of injury on McCabe’s body.
But a leader in the Twin Cities’ Liberian community said Tuesday that investigators shouldn’t rule out the possibility that McCabe’s death was linked to violence in his home country, where he survived 14 years of civil war.
Henry McCabe went missing Sept. 7, 2015.
“They would kill without remorse. They’ve done it for years,” Lovetta Tugbeh said of some Liberians who have immigrated to the U.S. “We need to find out what happened.”
McCabe was last seen during the early hours of Sept. 7 after having been dropped off at a convenience store in Fridley for unknown reasons. That location is at least 6 miles from where his body was found.
Recent searches began near the intersection of Silver Lake Road and Mississippi Street at Creekview Park in New Brighton, the location of the last call placed from McCabe’s cellphone.
His wife answered that call, at 2:28 a.m. on Labor Day, to hear what sounded like moaning and screams.
David Singleton, the chief executive of Minnesota Community Policing Services, said Tuesday he thinks someone else was involved in McCabe’s death.
“I don’t believe that he just wandered that far on his own and the audio doesn’t support the idea that his death is not suspicious,” Singleton said.
His association had offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to McCabe’s recovery, but it rescinded the reward on Oct. 23 after a fallout with McCabe’s wife because of “her willingness to mislead the public and this committee,” Singleton alleged then.
Since the disappearance, McCabe hadn’t been in contact with his family or his employer, the Minnesota Department of Revenue, where he was an auditor. He has two daughters, 10 and 2.
Tugbeh, of the Coalition for Justice in Liberia, described McCabe as a well-educated family man who wouldn’t intentionally disappear.
“I don’t think somebody would just drown himself,” she said. “Somebody was inflicting harm.”
Tugbeh said McCabe and his wife, Kareen, were part of the Liberian-American community in California before moving to Minnesota.
More than 25,000 people with roots in Liberia live in Minnesota, she said. The Liberian-American community was on edge because McCabe’s disappearance came after 10-year-old Barway Collins went missing from Crystal in March.
The boy’s body was found in the Mississippi River, and his father, Pierre Collins, admitted in August to killing him.
McCabe’s case remains under investigation, Kinney said Tuesday.
“Sad ending for a good person,” Singleton said.

Had President Garfield not been on a metal coil mattress when Alexander Graham Bell tried to use an invention to detect the exact location of the bullet in the president's body might he have lived? And if so would this have altered history dramatically considering Chester Arthur and Garfield's assassination brought about civil service reform??
By all accounts I believe Garfield would have been one of our greatest Presidents had he lived just as Robert F Kennedy was our greatest President that never was. Amazing the difference a good mattress can make. Some interesting parallels to today's politics.
deadpresidents deadpresidents Said:
There’s definitely a lot of evidence that argues that Alexander Graham Bell’s “induction balance” – which was basically an early version of a metal detector – likely would have found the bullet in President Garfield’s body if not for the mattress he was laying on. The two best books on the Garfield assassination – Kenneth D. Ackerman’s Dark Horse: The Surprise Election and Political Murder of President James A. Garfield (BOOK|KINDLE) and Candice Millard’s Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine, and the Murder of a President (BOOK|KINDLE) – say as much.
Of course, the best thing that Garfield’s doctors could have done for him was to leave the bullet inside him, dress his wounds, and refrain from poking and prodding him with their dirty fingers and unsterilized instruments. It wasn’t the bullet that killed Garfield; it was the infections introduced to his body from the poor medical care he received.
William McKinley’s death was eerily similar to Garfield’s. McKinley died almost exactly 20 years after Garfield, on September 14, 1901 (Garfield died September 19, 1881). The official cause of McKinley’s death was gangrene that had developed along the track of the bullet that pierced McKinley’s abdomen – an infection that likely could have been prevented with safer medical practices. Alexander Graham Bell’s induction balance wasn’t effective because of the mattress that Garfield was laying on. McKinley was shot at the Pan-American Exposition where a medical X-ray machine was being exhibited, but McKinley’s doctors didn’t think to use it. Like Bell and his metal detector, another legendary American inventor – Thomas Edison – offered the use of his X-ray prototype to President McKinley’s doctors, but they didn’t accept. In both assassinations, the doctors helped finish the job started by the assassins.
We know that hindsight is 20/20 and that the technological advances that we saw in the 20th Century were either unknown or untested when Garfield and McKinley were shot, so perhaps its unfair to put too much blame on the doctors. I’m not a medical expert, but my belief is that Garfield, who was a healthy, robust, strong, 49-year-old man could have survived – even in 1881 – if his doctors had been more careful. McKinley was older than Garfield, his health was not as solid as Garfield’s, and his wounds were more serious, so maybe he would have died either way, but I definitely think Garfield could have survived with better medical care.
If either shooting had happened later in the 20th Century, they both would have probably survived. Ronald Reagan was 70 years old when he was shot in 1981, and Reagan’s gunshot wound was significantly more dangerous than Garfield’s or McKinley’s. The bullet that struck President Reagan punctured and collapsed one of his lungs, lodged just an inch away from his heart, and caused him to lose 30%-40% of his blood. The quick reaction of Reagan’s Secret Service agents, who didn’t even realize the President had been shot until they were speeding away from the scene of the shooting, almost certainly saved Reagan’s life. Doctors later said that Reagan probably would have been dead had he arrived at the hospital five minutes later than he did.
I kind of went off on a tangent there, so let me bring it back around to answer the second part: James Garfield was about as progressive as Republicans got before Theodore Roosevelt hit the scene, and civil service reform was going to be on Garfield’s agenda. Garfield probably would have had a more difficult time passing it than President Arthur did, but I do think Garfield would have brought about reform. President Arthur, to his credit, saw that not only was civil service reform necessary, but that Garfield’s assassination by a disgruntled office seeker who sought a patronage position that he felt he deserved was a rallying cry for pushing through the reforms. Garfield’s assassination and the shocking revelation that Arthur, who was a product of the corrupt spoils system, was leading the fight for reform made it almost impossible to vote against the Pendleton Act.

Conspiracy theorists often cite 'knowing too much' as a cause for mysterious deaths and, in the case of some scientists, that may actually be true.
YouTube user Dark5 has created a video that looks at five of the most mysterious and eye brow-raising scientist deaths and raises the question of what knowledge they people may have taken to the grave.
Perhaps the most puzzling case is that of an Australian astrophysicist named Rodney Marks who was working at a research station at the South Pole.
After Marks unexpectedly died at the site, the defense contractors which controlled the facility did not turn his body over to authorities for an inexplicable six months.
A later investigation into his cause of death revealed that Marks had somehow accidentally poisoned himself with methyl alcohol.
Whether Marks had fashioned his own moonshine still at the South Pole or was the victim of a conspiracy to silence him remains open to conjecture.
What is be particularly troubling about the video is that it also highlights instances where numerous scientists bearing a curious connection to each other all passed away.
For example, an astounding 25 scientists working on the Star Wars Defense Initiative for the United States government all perished within a span of eight years.
Consisting of an inordinate amount of suicides and accidents, some believe the scientists were taken out by either their own government or concerned Russian forces hoping to put a stop to the SDI program.
Check out the video for more of these eye brow-raising cases, including a scientist who was allegedly blown off of a bridge by a gust of wind and a trio of Antarctic researchers who also perished under very weird circumstances.

I like the story about the Pleiadian/Nordic sisters. Of course we have nothing more than the word of the story teller for it that this really happened. But who knows? No matter how bizarre it is, it's still more plausible than hundreds of people seeing a ufo the size of a football field and the next day an 'expert' telling us it was swamp gas.

Bodies Of Strange Creatures Were Found In The Basement Of An Old House In London
In 1960 in London at the time of clearing the site for construction of a new residential neighborhood, the old long-abandoned mansion belonged to Thomas Theodore Merlin was sent for demolition.
In the basement of the home builders have discovered several thousand small wooden boxes tightly sealed.
Imagine their surprise when they began to find inside the bodies of strange mythical creatures, which seemed to have been living only in fairy tales.
alexcf.com/www.merrylinmuseum.com/welcome/ My name is Alex CF, and I am the curator and custodian of the Merrylin Cryptid collection. The study and documentation of the evolution and biology of unclassified species and research pertaining to prehistoric human and non human civilization.
In 2006, a trust was set up to analyze and collate a huge number of wooden crates found sealed in the basement of a London townhouse that was due to be demolished. Seemingly untouched since the 1940′s, the crates contained over 5000 specimens of flora and fauna, collected, dissected, and preserved by many forgotten scientists, professors and explorers of obscure cultures and species. The collection also housed many artifacts of curious origin, fragments of civilizations that once ruled the earth, of ideas and belief systems better left in the past.
But the most curious aspect of this discovery was the man responsible for its existence – the enigmatic, mysterious gentlemen that had gathered together a wealth of relics that challenged our understanding of nature; of species that had never been witnessed by the modern world, of objects which defied physical laws,
Lord and Professor Thomas Theodore Merrylin.
Born in 1782 to a rich aristocratic family, Thomas followed in his fathers footsteps of esoteric natural history, investing in profitable companies to fund his travels across the world, seeking out these illusive animals which hid in forgotten continents or darkened crevices, away from prying human eyes.
They traveled together until the death of his father turned Thomas into a recluse, seeking solace in his work and befriending no one. He tutored himself in the grand Library at Merrylin house, yet also studied at Gower street once the university had been established. Even then, he isolated himself from other students.
A bizarre quality of Merrylin was his apparent permanent youthfulness. Even in his 80′s, he still resembled a 40 year old, albeit of odd complexion, and his few bizarre forays into the eyes of the media only furthered his infamy. He was accused of practicing dark arts to prolong his life. Yet, he did befriend eminent scholars, who helped calm such rumors – scholars who encouraged him to share his collection with the world. In 1899, he took a small portion of his specimens on tour across America. Conservative attitudes of the time condemned these creatures, calling them blasphemous. His reaction was severe and the tour was canceled before it reached California. He returned to England and fell into obscurity, until 1942.
The Tunbridge Orphanage for boys was contacted by a man purporting to be Thomas Theodore Merrylin, in the spring of that year. He wished to donate a sizable London town house to the Orphanage for use once the war was over, and children returned. The only proviso was that the basement of the house never be opened and the house never sold. The Orphanage stood by this promise, until absolved in the 60′s and the existence of the cellar forgotten. Sealed behind two brick walls, the door was only found by chance when the foundations were checked prior to demolition. The Thomas Merrylin pictured in a local newspaper, handing over the documents for ownership to the new proprietor was in his forties. By this time, Merrylin would have been over 160 years old. The name sparked interest from those who had followed Merrylins work, most assuming him long dead. But the man claiming to be Thomas promptly disappeared. Leaving no evidence of his existence. The Merrylin estate was also sold off and money given to charity.
What he left was the most incredible collection ever known, actual specimens of dragons, the infant forms of werewolves, artifacts from ancient Vampyr nations and the trappings of nefarious scientists whose existence was presumed to be mere fiction. It was this, and the apparent immortality of Merrylin that drove me to become rather fanatical about understanding the life of this man, and his world changing collection. What had allowed him to live so long? Where had these specimens originated from, considering there are no other examples of these species to be found on the Earth? It is this that I find so thrilling and yet so terrifying..

American woman develops SCOTTISH accent after suffering ‘exploding’ brain in rare case of Foreign Accent Syndrome 10:48, 3 Feb 2016 Updated 12:04, 3 Feb 2016 By Rosa McMahon Linda Pereira's accent switched from American to Scottish after after feeling an eruption in her brain and is now regularly mistaken for being from the UK
A woman has told how she lost her typical American accent and now speaks with a SCOTTISH twang after developing a rare medical condition.
Linda Pereira, 50, from Atlanta, Georgia, has only ever travelled abroad twice but is regularly mistaken for being from the UK.
The mother-of-three, originally from San Jose, California, was diagnosed with ultra rare Foreign Accent Syndrome after feeling an eruption in her brain while messaging a friend on Facebook in October last year.
She has also been mistaken as being from Sweden, Germany and South Africa.
Linda, who has documented the changes on her YouTube channel, said she was pleased about her new accents.
Describing the moment she lost her Californian drawl, she said: "My family went out and I was on Facebook talking to a friend.
"It was a rather complex topic, and in trying to reply, I felt extremely tired and could barely keep my eyes open.
"I decided to lie down, but this didn't help, and I felt a weird pressure in my brain I hadn't felt before.
"It was a ball, and as I typed, my eyes and brain seemed to fuzz in and out.
"I thought it was a result of trying to think too hard, so I went over to something funny on Facebook with one of my friends and I started to type a reply, when I felt a ball erupt and an electrical eruption moved throughout my entire brain.
"I couldn't move and couldn't open my mouth."
The former computer repairer was alone until her computer engineer husband Phil, 55, returned home two-and-a-half-hours later.
Paralysed, she could only blink frantically to get his attention and communicate that something was terribly wrong.
"All I was thinking is 'What am I going to do?," the grandmother-of-two said.
"When my husband came home, he thought I was just having a rest and it took him half-an-hour to finally realise I couldn't answer him."
After about an hour of being unable to open her mouth, Linda was finally able to take some medication to calm her down.
Later that night, she recorded her voice to hear how she sounded so she could work out what had happened - but it was not until the next day she noticed the strange change.
"My husband thought I sounded British and said sometimes he couldn't understand me, but I thought it was more Swedish or German," she said.
Two days later, her physiologist and neurologist diagnosed her with Foreign Accent Syndrome, which affects just 60 people worldwide.
Now, her voice interchanges between the Scandinavian sounds, German and sometimes switches to a Scottish or South African-twang.
Linda says her family cannot believe how differently she speaks - and even gets better service in restaurants and shops because staff think she is a tourist.
She entertains her family with impersonations from the Disney film Frozen and confuses her mother-in-law who asks her to stop doing the "silly accent."
But Linda says she does miss her Californian tones.
"At first we all thought it was funny," she said. "We had a good time with it but I was always thinking it was temporary and going to go away.
"Now, this is how I know myself and I know it doesn't sound like me."
The syndrome usually results from a stroke, but can also develop from head trauma, migraines or developmental problems.
It is unclear what exactly caused Linda's condition.
She has suffered slight changes in her speech since 2000, thought to be due to a contraceptive pill.
She was also diagnosed Tardive Akathisia and Functional Neurological Disorder in June last year which means she suffers with non-epileptic seizures and unclear speech.

7 Mysteriously SLAIN Scientists Published on May 20, 2016
This is Alexei Leonov, a Soviet Cosmonaut who would have probably been the first man on the moon, were it not for the death of this man, the brilliant engineer Sergei Korolev. Sucks to be you Comrade Leonov. Korolev was the Soviet Union’s lead rocket engineer during the space race, and his work on Sputnik and Vostok helped Yuri Gagarin become the first human in orbit. Korolev died on January 14th 1966, and his loss enabled the US to catch up and exceed the Soviet’s spacefaring capabilities. But was his death an accident, or something more sinister?
In 1966 Indian Nuclear Physicist Dr Homi Jhangir Bhabha claimed India was on the verge of producing a nuclear weapon, but this man so important to achieving that goal was killed in a suspicious plane crash not long after his speech. It is speculated that the CIA assassinated Bhabha to prevent India acquiring nuclear weaponry. India successfully tested a nuclear weapon 8 years later, with the fantastically named Smiling Buddha device, which India said they’d used to cause a “peaceful nuclear explosion”, a description which makes about as much sense as a pleasant case of diarrhea, or a really lovely Isis video.
Eugene Mallove was a scientist, science writer and a believer in cold fusion, a hypothetical form of nuclear reaction which could provide the world with cheap energy. Unsurprisingly this isn’t something which major energy companies would like to see developed, because when energy becomes cheaper the gas and oil fat-cats will have to start downsizing their yachts and stop eating bathtubs full of caviar, which is what I presume rich people do.
In the last twenty years scores of world-famous astronomers have died around the world, with many being close colleagues in deep field and earth collision studies. Allan Sandage and Geoffrey Marsden were astronomers and colleagues who died within days of each other of a rare non-transmittable disease affecting only 1 in 100,000 people. It was rumoured that both were warned against revealing information about an imminent earth-bound asteroid, and they weren’t the only ones.
In 2003 Britain’s Government was struggling to find compelling reasons to join the Iraq war alongside America. They eventually released a dossier detailing how Iraq had weapons of mass destruction capable of launching within 45 minutes. But, in an off the record remark to a BBC journalist, Dr David Kelly, a biological warfare scientist employed by the Ministry of Defence, basically said these claims were a crock of crap.

A new orchid species discovered in Colombia boasts a remarkably demonic feature at its center: a heart that bears an uncanny resemblance to the devil!
The devilishly-shaped gynostemium earned the flower the sinister sounding name Telipogon diabolicus.
Beyond the satanic center, the orchid also sports unique petals that were described by researchers as "distinctly clawed."
Should the flower prove to be truly diabolical, we likely need not worry, since there appear to be only around 30 of the orchids discovered so far.
But if the 'devil orchids' suddenly start sprouting up everywhere, then we may have a problem.

Police address clown sightings in Greenville By WSPA Staff Published: September 1, 2016, 1:12 pm | Updated: September 1, 2016, 8:39 pm
GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – The Greenville Police and Greenville Co. Sheriff’s Office held a news conference today to address the recent clown sightings.
There have been 7 sightings in the Upstate as off Thursday evening.
CLICK HERE TO SEE MAP OF SIGHTINGS
They say there are different descriptions of the clowns.
They don’t know if there are on or two people doing it repetitively or if there are multiple people.
They don’t know if it’s connected to the upcoming movie “31” or if someone is “Somewhat politely terrorizing” the community.
They say a person can be charged because you are causing a disruption and causing fear in the community.
They say Greenville City ordinance prohibits harassment of individuals (see Sec. 24-32 for “Molesting, disturbing, or following persons”) and State law applies to publicly concealing identity (see Section 16-7-110 for “Wearing masks and the like”). Additional laws may apply, depending upon the specific circumstances of each case.
In the four incidents in Greenville City, there has been no indication of any attempt to contact or lure children into the woods, according to Greenville Police.
They are advising people to not dress in clown outfits.
PARK HAYWOOD APARTMENTS
Greenville Police says they got a call about a suspicious person at the Park Haywood Apartments on Congaree Rd. on Wednesday.
The woman said she saw a man dressed as a clown standing and starring at her while she was in the laundry mat around 5:20 p.m.
She said he just stood there and didn’t say anything.
She left, but he didn’t follow her. She then called the apartment manager.
She said the clown was 35 – 45-years old, 5’10” and slightly overweight (190 – 210 lbs).
He was clean shaven and had dark eyes.
He was wearing a white swimmer’s cap with neon or red hair coming out of the sides; white face paint with a black painted line starting between his eyebrows and ending at his upper lip.
He was also wearing a gray long sleeve t-shirt and white gloves.
His pants were described as white and “balloon” pants.
She said he smelled like house paint.
CANAAN POINT APARTMENTS – SPARTANBURG
Police responded to a suspicious person call last night around 10:25 at Canaan Pointe Apartments in Spartanburg.
The caller said the person was dressed as a clown and was standing in her backyard.
She said she took a picture of the clown and he ran away.
Police say the photo was too dark to make out an image.
Police weren’t able to find the clown.
They say they will continue to follow up on this incident and encourage anyone that may have seen a suspicious person in the area to them.
This is the first sighting in Spartanburg. There have been 4 more in Greenville.
