I myself have favorite individual album tracks. But most often, I'll listen to the albums from end to end, "hits" and all.
Some of my favorite album tracks:
Linda Ronstadt: "Birds"; "Rescue Me" Don't Cry Now: "Colorado"; "Desperado" Heart Like A Wheel: "The Dark End Of The Street"; "Willing" Prisoner In Disguise: "Roll 'Um Easy"; "I Will Always Love You" Hasten Down The Wind: "The Tattler"; "Lo Siento Mi Vida"; "Try Me Again" Simple Dreams: "Old Paint" Living In The USA: "White Rhythm And Blues"; "All That You Dream"

I'm pretty sure you've already seen this, musicaamator, but here's a vintage -- and pristine -- video of Linda performing YNG in 1976 (with Andrew Gold and Kenny Edwards in the band). This gives you a time-capsule feeling of what it was like to see her live during this period of her career (I saw her first in 1977 -- twice!). You're No Good 1976Nice band intro at beginning, too. And no one looks better shaking a tambourin and banging a cowbell than does Linda. Believe it or not, but this video is the exact one I was referring to earlier in the thread about how Linda/the band extend the end for the guitar solos and then return to sing the You're No Good, No Good, Ohhh part before ending the song! That is one amazing clip--not only for the song itself but to hear Linda's cute voice introduce the band before too!
And concur wholeheartedly about her shaking and hitting the cowbell! No one could be more sexier than the Lovely Linda!
Speaking of tambourine shaking, I remember in 1986 on the old Late Night with David Letterman show (when he was still on NBC), one of his top tens was on the the top ten best tambourine players of all time. I don't think Linda made the list but she definitely could shake it with the best of them!
(In case anyone is wondering and if memory serves me well, Davy Jones was on the list three times: #7 solo, #3 with The Monkees, and #1 for The Monkees reunion tour of 1986! The others I couldn't tell you!)

OMG! How many facts did I get wrong? Thanks, Erik, for the corrections.

I was taking a look through posts and came across one of the 'Reactions' postings (I'm not that sure about what the Reactions prove to be honest, I don't look at these too much) showing You're No Good from the Midnight Special series, I know this is 'old hat' and I've seen it myself from way back, but just wondered how much enjoyment there was in Linda's appearance, to me she really doesn't look like she's having a great time. The band are cooking (Richie in particular working his ass off, as ever, I could watch him all day)....at the end there is the first Linda smile of the performance and it seems a bit sheepish. I wonder what was wrong about it that made it look like hard work? It's making me flick through old performances to see on a scale of 1-10 how much of a good time she is having :-)
Just my observation... meaningless really, but curious.

I wondered about that, too. Who knows what goes on behind-the-scenes at these things. Maybe something happened beforehand in terms of stage direction (Clydie and Venetta dancing around her) that wasn't the way Linda envisioned it in her head. Yeah, she seems a bit distracted.

Yeah it's a bit of a shame because the music is really cooking and it has that progressive edge to the playing that really took off in the set in the coming few years with this track, the musicians really stretching out, and Linda seemed to enjoy that in concert with picking up the tambourine and so on. But yes, who knows, could have been anything on the night, we'll never know.
