Quote by sliderocker re. "Different Drum" video: It was at the Bitter End in Greenwich Village, from March 1968. Actually, that was a TV studio made up to look like the Bitter End. I learned this from the late Kenny Hodges, the 2nd bass player of Spanky And Our Gang, who also appeared on the show. BTW, Kenny replaced Oz Bach, who can be seen backing Linda on Lovesick Blues on Playboy After Dark

Most definitely! Like you said prior, she never had a bad picture!
There are plenty of "bad" pictures depending on your definition of bad. To me, if it doesn't look like Linda or capture her "essence" (warts and all/figuratively speaking) at that time it is a bad picture. (similar to the one we spoke about earlier. just doesn't look like Linda to me as I think the lighting was way off).

I like this one too! It shows attitude.. the jeans, her shoes "candies" and I love the glass door knob on the bathroom door.. kind of a shabby chic look which is very popular today

If I had to choose a second favourite era of Linda's looks (the first being the hippie/Stone Poneys years), the Mad Love era would be it. She was gorgeous with the short hair (and I am not a fan of short hair on women. Hope that doesn't sound sexist.) and the photos she took at that time were so punk/new wave. Man, it projected attitude! Just like this pic!
Sad to say I know of the Candies shoes you're referring too Dianna as my sister had tons of those shoes it seemed!
(BTW, i like the new layout of the forum!)

I LOVE that shot! Funny that it's over 30 years old yet Linda's "look" would still look good today. Well, to me...
It's also funny that Liebovitz is the photographer, this after the dust-up between Linda and Annie after the notorious "arse to the wind" photo shoot. I know that Liebovitz was RS's go-to photographer, but you have to wonder how things went between them on this shoot.

Yea, she looked and acted great throughout that show. From the first minute on when she arrives to the last, it was a great one! And oh, did I envy Kermit, and empathize with miss Piggy! Linda was beautiful in that episode. Loved the three songs she performed particular When I Grow Too Old To Dream with all the Muppets. That scene was touching. I couldn't agree more! I treasure my copy of the DVD for that show and never tire of viewing it.

Love the picture. Can't think of any pictures of Linda that I didn't like, but I agree that this one is special for the same reasons you state.

that story, I think, was blown out of proportion. there are versions where there was no issue at all. eddiejinnj

Since Linda most obviously did another shoot with Liebovitz for this series of photos, your assessment of their first shoot, Eddie, is most likely true. I can't imagine Linda, having the resentful feelings for Annie assigned to her by conjecture, willingly submitting to Liebovitz's camera again.

Will have to look up to see whatever became of Annie's financial troubles some time back--if she had to sell her portraits in order to meet her debt obligations. Imagine purchasing one of these original Leibovitz prints of Linda? If I remember well, Annie was over $20 million in the hole.
Which puzzles me how these people of such wealth can blow it all, or even accumulate debt at all. No financial advisers, lawyers or accountants to help out? Gee, that would be the first ones I'd get if I got into substantial wealth.

Leibovitz may have had a financial adviser, accountant and lawyer but really, just because one has them if they are wealthy, that is no guarantee they are going to save your money or invest wisely. What if her advisors had invested her money with the money market firms in New York that took their investors's money and blew it or gave it to themselves as bonuses for their chicanery? Also, if the bulk of her money was made back in the 60s and 70s and she cut back on her work as she got older, that would mean she'd be relying on whatever money she had in the bank for living expenses. It's possible that what was in the bank in her checking account wasn't as much as what she thought was there.

it sure as s**t would not happen to me. I appreciate the value of money too much. I would not let an advisor etc know/have access/control of my whole basket. but to get back to linda she looks hot in pic. notice the low clearance of her toilet area lol. the slouch gave her the attitude position and the eyes and the sexy lip pout sealed it. eddiejinnj

Then again, I'm prejudice when it comes to Linda. She'd look hot no matter what type of clothing she's wearing.

And yes, that one where she is in pink on RS cover is awesome! Speaking of Linda in a RS cover story, I must admit her first cover on RS is unique, and one I really like/admire. IDK , there's just something about it that makes me really dig it. Is it because of her mouth agape, which looks like she has gum in there, or the fact that it was just caught in the middle of an action shot like she's talking, shouting, singing? IDK about you all, but I find it very stunning.

I also love that photo of Linda in the pink sweat suit, lying on her bed, on the phone, with her legs sticking straight up. She looks like a little girl......SO CUTE! But also kind of sexy too, like you said. And you're right about Linda wearing anything. She looks hot to me no matter what she is wearing........she has this quality about her that goes with just about anything.........and without any make-up even!

Hey buddy! Now that you mention it, I have to admit it. I've liked that particular RS cover too since I first saw it. She is so cute as usual, but also very sexy. You can see her crooked teeth, and for some strange reason, I find it very appealing. I think it made Linda even cuter. And with her mouth open like that........it's almost kind of erotic as well. You know what I mean?

I think that's the word I was looking for too: sexy! It's an excellent shot of her and it does, as you say, make her look even cuter. Thus, that is why it is so appealing to us. I might have to go on ebay and see if there is a poster, or the magazine itself of this cover, so I can have a copy for myself.
Anyway, here's another photo from that same session: You may have already seen that one, but I haven't. And suffice to say, a nice pair of pins (legs)!

I've seen this one before, but it's one of my favorites. She IS absolutely breathtaking there. She was so young, beautiful, sweet and innocent. I wish I could just jump into that picture and be with her on the beach. My DREAM GIRL!

I would be careful about that Bubbas. Just off camera there is a huge man eating dog Linda often walks on the beach.

Was that from the Time Magazine? I remember this photo from long ago. It looks like it was from the Teen Beat rag, at least according to the stamp on the lower left part of the pic.
Just a fantastic shot.

Just a fantastic shot.I remember seeing that beach photo in other magazines of the time...never saw it in Teen Beat(?) as that was one magazine that was never in the house at the height of Linda's popularity. Have a younger sister who was a teen at that time but she never bought that teen rag either or any other teen rag for that matter. I remember the photo being used in another magazine about the time when Linda was offered a million or so to pose in the buff for Hustler and she turned that offer down. As for the beach photo, I liked it overall but it wasn't among my favorite photos of Linda that I've seen over the years.
