These pictures are amazing. Has this run in the States on BBC America or is there another way to see it?

Since it is available on youtube I hadn't looked for an alternative but I think it is probably available for a limited time on the BBC site. When I have the time I will insert more photos. My computer and the websites I needed to do this kept stalling so it took me hours to just do this little bit. Glad you guys liked them. I appreciate knowing that.Published on Dec 11, 2016
Sisters in Country: Dolly, Linda and Emmylou Full BBC Documentary 2016 | www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/... | How Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris's careers took off in the 1970s with distinct takes on country, but how they ended up uniting as close harmony singers on Trio. Documentary which explores how Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris's careers took off in the 1970s with very distinct takes on country, but how they ended up uniting as close harmony singers and eventually collaborated on 1987's four-million-selling debut album, Trio. In the 60s country music was viewed by most of America as blue collar and Dolly was country through and through. Linda Ronstadt's take on classic country helped make her the biggest female star in mid-70s USA. Folkie Emmylou learned about country from mentor Gram Parsons and, after his death in 1973, she became a bandleader in her own right. It was Emmylou and Linda - the two west coast folk rockers - who voiced their mutual appreciation of Dolly, the mountain girl singer from Tennessee, when they became early students of her work. The artists talk about uniting as harmony singers and eventually collaborating on their debut album, Trio. The album helped launch the mountain music revival that would peak with the soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Thou. In 2012 Linda Ronstadt was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease which left her unable to sing, but 2016 sees unreleased songs from their sessions to create a third Trio album. This is the story of how their alliance made them pioneers in bringing different music worlds together and raising the game for women in the country tradition.Contributors: Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Rodney Crowell, George Lucas, Peter Asher, Chris Hillman, Laura Cantrell, Robert K Oermann, John Boylan, Phil Kaufman, David Lindley, Albert Lee, Herb Pedersen, George Massenberg & Applewood Road. I think that screencap of the Trio with George Lucas standing to the right side is the only time I have ever seen Linda and him in the same picture.

To me at least this song is a masterpiece. Add the music to this photo and I am transported onto the Blue Train myself. I feel the tracks underneath and hear the train whistle while traveling through the many small villages in our beautiful country.Has anyone ever found a song whose instrumentation and vocals mimic the songs theme as well as this? The Blue Train Linda Ronstadt with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris with lyrics "The Blue Train"
Watching the long faces Riding this run down track And the lost places From a dream that never brings them back And the sad truth is Nothing but a cold hard fact
I'm riding the blue train Over the miles yet to cover A ghost in a hurry to fade I'm taking it one way to nowhere Afraid you might be there To find me inside this blue train
Counting the burned bridges Trailing this rusted wreck As our back pages Scatter in the dust we left Like a pearl necklace Falling from around my neck
I'm riding the blue train Over the miles yet to cover A ghost in a hurry to fade I'm taking it one way to nowhere Afraid you might be there To find me inside this blue train
Away down the low road A ticket to an empty room A rendezvous unknown
I'm riding the blue train Over the miles yet to cover A ghost in a hurry to fade And I'm taking it one way to nowhere Afraid you might be there To find me inside this blue train
I'm riding the blue train Over the miles yet to cover A ghost in a hurry to fade I'm taking it one way to nowhere Afraid you might be there To find me inside this blue train

One of the most charming things about Linda is her lovely expressive face. Mostly spontaneous, often soulful, and always endearing. To me Linda has a womanchild aura, adult but a young personality under the surface.

It was a Willie Nelson Family Picnic. I think that was the entire line up but there may have been another artist. I remember it seemed like a long tie from when Emmy opened the show until Linda went on. The old Giants Stadium was huge - you might be able to research online.

I was at the Willie Nelson picnic in 83. It was in Atlanta. There was a huge lineup. DAC, Stray cats, waylin and Jesse, Willie, Merle, Linda and id have to dig it out but I have a picture of Linda bc I was standing right below her and she came out in a white romper with red hearts or cherries on them and barefoot. These pictures are not from that concert. And I dont believe that's Linda either.

Sheila -- You do not think that this is Linda? These are from Linda's appearance at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on July 4, 1983:

I had a Living in the USA album. I remember a picture of her inside bending over tying her skates. Not siting down but bending over. Did I remember that wrong? Mandelela effect?

I don't think that you have it right Mj (welcome to the forum and your input). The inner sleeve shows her sitting on a satin covered box bending down finishing tying her laces. She definitely is in the sitting position. Again, welcome Mj!!! It is easy to join the forum. eddiejinfl

Could there be variations of the album? Am I thinking of another album? I was so sure.

Does anyone else remember this, if it was a variation someone else would have seen it.

I know of no variations/outtakes where she is standing bending over to tie skates as part of a physical album I have seen in person or in pics. There might be pics that were outtakes never used for an album package as in the Porky Pig photo outtake I just saw for the first time. eddiejinfl
