I was thinking it would be fun for everyone to go back through the last 12 Linda Ronstadt Photo thread posts and post a few of the ones you consider your favorites and tell us why (or not).
To make it somewhat easier here is a link to all of the photos I have ever posted on this site:
s28.photobucket.com/albums/c224/ronstadtfanaz/
It contains tons of Linda's photos, some duplicates but you can easily link the photo to this site by holding your cursor over the photo and the share/copy links pop up. Left click the IMG code there and then right click here to paste. (I hope this works.) It also contains non-Linda photos that I've posted.
Or you may have some in your own catalog you would like to share!

I love this picture so much I used it for my avatar. I have many favorites, but this is one of them. This was taken around the Simple Dreams era (1977). Love it for many reasons......cute, sexy......what a combination......those huge, hypnotic, beautiful, brown eyes, those adorable sweet lips, the hoop earrings, the hair.....everything! What a woman!

Yes, this was part of that deal that sent her to Dodger Stadium to do the National Anthem for Game 3 of the 1977 World Series. She got that nice T-shirt to go along with it all. Of course, thsi particular photograph was from a year later, with the Living In The USA sessions.

funniest photo: Why did Linda look like she didn't want to be in that limo? The guy with the cigarette hanging out of his mouth looked kind of scary. Linda didn't like to be around cigarette smoke and I wonder if she would've asked the guy to please refrain from smoking?

The guy with the smoke is Jack Nickolson! And it doesn't look lit.

The guy with the smoke is Jack Nickolson! And it doesn't look lit. No wonder Linda looked nervous! The cigarette didn't look lit to me either but I figure the photo was likely snapped on the quick. The look on everyone's faces is different. Linda = apprehensive, nervous. Nicholson = annoyed, pure evil - if I'd been the photographer, I'd probably would've snapped the photo and run like hell because of Nicholson. The third face that you see, thought he looked like Jackson Browne, but not 100% sure. But, whoever he is, he's glad to be there. The fourth party, you can't really make out who it is or what her reaction is. But, the photo is interesting to say the least.

I'm 98% certain that the photo with the light in the background is the entrance to the Arlington Theatre on State Street in Santa Barbara, CA. There is a very old wooden stand in the front under the marquis (perhaps for valet parking in olden times) - which the flower is sitting on - and an outdoor/indoor hall behind leading to the theatre entrance which is about 120' long. I used to walk through that hall every day for 2 years on the way from my tiny efficiency apartment (bedroom with a kitchen) to work in the mid-1980s. The Arlington Theatre is where they recorded the What's New concert on VHS. Really cool interior.

I looked it up on Google images by typing in the names and found the photo. Here's the link to it: www.sohoblues.com/SoHoBlues/previewpages/previewpage48.htmThis confirms that it is indeed Carl Bernstein. It says they were leaving a club after Carter's inauguration. I would imagine Bernstein was there covering the inauguration for The Washington Post. He must have decided to join the party afterwards. Strange that Jack Nicholson was there. He is one strange character. Very odd seeing Linda in a limo with the likes of him. Of course she performed at the inaugural gala.....I think there's a video of her on YouTube singing "Crazy."

Rob, I think he should have left up your cameo throughout the video's entirety (including the caption)

Actually (and someone correct me if I'm mistaken, which I might very well be), it may be Carl Bernstein, he of Woodward & Bernstein fame. Well, blow me down! (As Popeye would often say. : I never recalled seeing a photo of Carl Bernstein or Bob Woodward, despite their scoop which led to the end of the Nixon presidency and thrust them into the spotlight. I wasn't as into politics back then as what I am now...just wish we had their likes now, what with the news media crawling into bed with the politicians. Curiously, I think Bernstein's and Woodward's scoop was what was responsible for the news media all across the country becoming more aggressive in dealings with the political candidates and even celebrities. Reporters would go after the trivial stuff (like the affair Gary Hart had or Bill Clinton's sexual pecadilloes with Monica Lewinsky) in the name of the public's right to know, which was so damned bogus because the news media wasn't especially concerned with the public's right to know so much as they were concerned about their right to know. But, then they turned a hypocritical blind eye on presidents like Reagan and Dumbya Bush on crimes they committed. Quite honestly, I wish there was a Woodward and Bernstein around today to blow the whistle on the corrupt politicians. Bush and Cheney might be languishing in some prison cell today if the press had been more aggressive with them rather than passive. Getting back to the photo and Linda appearing to be nervous and/or apprehensive, I don't think I've ever seen another photo of her where she gave the same impression. Seemed to be a very rare moment. And I'm sort of wondering if she was nervous and apprehemsive, was it because of the people she was with or because of the news media outside that limo? But, she just looked like she didn't want to be there at all. Wonder if she might include the photo in her book and add some comments as to what she was thinking?

Well, both of those guys are still around but seem to have sold out in my opinion.
The priceless thing about the Jack, Carl, Linda limo photo is the 4th person we aren't seeing. Could it be the infamous "Deep Throat" of Watergate fame or perhaps "the cigarette smoking guy" from the X Files?

The CD that re-introduced me to Linda. Now I'm hooked for life. What a heavenly voice.......and the most beautiful face I've ever seen......pure, natural beauty and innocence.

Isn't that little kid Karla Bonoff? Nah...has to be Linda's secret daughter that no one knew about way back when! Seriously, I don't know who the little girl is, but I have a guess as to one of her parents may be, which I'm going to keep to myself just in case I'm wrong. As for Linda, this photo is one of the best I've ever seen of her. Her "Mom" beauty just radiates.

I remember this photo in a National Enquirer saying Linda was having an affair with Chip Carter, the President's son. And they said the 3rd guy in the picture was him. So that's what I always thought.

So that's what I always thought. I remember reading a couple of articles where the Chip Carter rumor was mentioned, and it was also mentioned in a biography of Linda. Seems to me it was just that: a rumor. I wonder what the story was behind it, how the rumor got started exactly? Does anyone know anything about it?

It probably got started the way the vast majority of rumours get started. We have a saying in the little town I live in, "If you don't hear a good rumour by noon, start your own".

Love Linda when she was a hippie. It is so...IDK...her! Probably the little girl is her niece? Anyway, Linda is beautiful on both those pics.
