There is a photo of Linda on a tour bus looking spaced-out or sad/lonely (IMO) she is sitting on the inside, beside a female fellow passenger. It was shown in TSOMV movie.

To me, she looks tired and exhausted. And we'd probably be too if we spent days on end on tour buses or planes.

Since this thread, Linda has affirmed she never injected anything.
Generally, Linda knew how important her voice was to her success, and would not risk damaging it.
Linda did get reported as having flu & colds, probably travelling as much as she did. She said flying gave her sinus trouble and preferred going places by road to air. I can relate to that.

Quote by RLW: I think it was David Geffen who said that. Diet pills were indeed Linda's prime pharmaceutical "obsession", such as it was. She was always insecure about her weight during the apex of her popularity. There was an article in Rolling Stone on Linda which highlighted her insecurity about her weight. She had gained weight, and had gone on a diet of eating nothing but oranges. Think it was just for a week, but she lost something like twelve pounds. I don't know if that diet was approved by her physician or dietician (if she had one), but it's a miracle she didn't seem to suffer any serious health problems. Doctors these days recommend that if you're trying to lose weight, you don't lose more than one or two pounds per week. I think the reason is you can lose too much of your electrolytes and you end up with all sorts of problems. Karen Carpenter's anorexia nervosa which killed her caused her to lose too many electrolytes, which may have been the cause of her heart stopping. And one rumor about Elvis was that he was losing too much weight in too short a time and then regaining the weight also in too short a time, and his body wasn't able to handle it because of the loss of the electrolytes. And that caused his heart to stop. Fortunately, Linda's dieting didn't lead to any serious health complications. Maybe she listened to her doctor and stayed away from every fad diet there was, which promised someone they would lose weight and keep it off.` This article is interesting about Linda's size-awareness whatsheonaboutnow.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-strange-afternoon-with-linda.html also this post forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/has-linda-ronstadt-been-forgotten.313901/page-2#post-8714074

This is the photo, what do you think? I think that's a guy sitting next to Linda. Possibly one of the Rolling Stone reporters who did articles on Linda and seem to have access to her. Linda often complained about being the only female on board, so she got her mom to go on the tour with her. The party sitting next to her doesn't look like her mom. As for Linda, I think she was just tired and bored. Going from getting on a jet to the city where you're going to play, getting checked in at the hotel and trying to get enough sleep, getting up and getting something to eat, doing the soundchecks, possibly going back to the hotel for a little more rest, then checking out of the hotel to go do the concert, the back on the plane to the next venue. That would get old. And tiring. Elvis often complained he didn't know what day it was when he was on tour. The Beatles had the same complaint as did many others. Touring was regarded as a necessary evil but I've never known an artist who truly liked the grind. It took a lot out of a person and took longer and longer to recover.

I expect they must have got jet lagged too flying across time zones.
One of the many reasons ABBA broke up was that Agnetha hated flying and got travel sick.

Linda remains my addiction perhaps of choice, perhaps not of choice. I am not fond of her politics, nor her practicing atheism. i still love her and have enough faith in the Creator for the both of us.

Linda and Mick Jagger were together for a year in the late 1970s. They were the King and Queen of Rock n Roll in that era. It’s common knowledge.

Linda and Mick Jagger were together for a year in the late 1970s. They were the King and Queen of Rock n Roll in that era. It’s common knowledge. Linda was the Queen of Rock and Roll but Mick the King? Oh please! Never, never, never! Elvis was called the King of Rock and Roll all of his life and still is today, 46 years after his passing. Mick was referred to as the Jester in Don McLean's American Pie but I never heard anyone refer to Mick as the King of Rock, and I am a Stones fan as well. I have referred to Linda as the Queen of Rock and Roll and have taken some serious flack over that by others who made the claim for Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Ann Wilson, et al. But, as with Elvis and those who made the claim for this artist or that artist, the title comes down to their career, the fans, the public perception and sales. Elvis, with his worldwide sales of over a billion is pretty hard to beat. With Linda, Janis had the potential but sadly was like Buddy Holly in that she died too young. Stevie, Ann and the other contenders likewise had the potential but not Linda's worldwide sales, which had been estimated as over 100 million. And Linda was there first. Madonna allegedly has worldwide sales of 800 million claimed, but I think the rock community would revolt in unity if a claim was made she was the Queen of Rock and Roll. You'll never get an argument out of me about Linda as the Queen of Rock and Roll, but the King of Rock and Roll will always be Elvis. He was the catalyst for making rock happen in the 50s. All that said, the subject is Linda and drugs and not Linda's dating life. And, with Linda and Mick, there's no mention of drugs. Linda has also said she never dated Mick, never slept with him and I believe her. As for Linda and drugs, she never denied in her 20s and 30s, that she took some drugs but as she got older, she shied away from saying she did much of anything when it came to drugs. And with the progress of her illness, it may be something she doesn't remember doing.

I have always considered claims re: Mick and Linda involved romantically as highly speculative. I have never heard about Mick being a subject in American Pie. Thanks, slide!!!

when I think of "Rock"...I think of male energy.....Linda had it magnificently balanced with the fEminine dynamic in her voice as well....but I just don't think of her as "Rock"......I think of Janis....or someone like Maggie Bell (whatever happened to her??)////like...somebody Rod Stewart-yyyy.......course elvis wasn't rasp and all that either
