Yesterday was the anniversary of the airing of Linda's HBO concert for her What's New album. Here are the ad in TV Guide and the program description.

Sunday 5/27/84 was 35 years ago - what were you doing then. I could still kick myself for not attending the concert - walked through the Arlington Theater grounds in Santa Barbara every day on my way to work back then.

Does anyone have the Ben Fong-Torres article from page 37 mentioned in the same TV Guide issue?

I have to say the advertising was quite alluring in a number of ways and done quite well. eddiejinnj

I was living in Laconia New Hampshire and had just turned eighteen years old. I had moved out of my parents house. My parents had HBO and a new VHS machine so the night it debuted on HBO I was at my parents house where my father recorded the special for me.

The What's New show is still on Youtube, it was great. I mostly prefer her rock songs from the mid 70s to early 80s, but I really like her jazz songs too.
