What a great interview. Linda's very best interviews are when she digs into the music and these were very good questions. I wish that the interviewer had pursued the Vargas story a little further--HOW would her whole singing life had been different?

With respect to what she said about James Ingram, saying she never did "Somewhere Out There" live with him, she is probably having what she'd call a "Parkinson's moment", because she and James did indeed do that song for the 1987 HBO Welcome Home concert which paid tribute to Vietnam veterans.

Erik, to be honest, I think Linda has selective memory about some things. As we know, Linda appeared on a number of TV variety shows, including Andy Williams. Do you remember someone posted that long interview with Linda and the interviewer asked Linda about “The Andy Williams Show,” and Linda’s response was something like, “I NEVER DID ‘The Andy Williams Show!’” And she added she didn’t like doing television. And this interview was quite a number of years ago. Also, what I like about this interview is that she mentions “Get Closer,” whereas if one reads John Boylan’s liner notes for “Live in Hollywood,” he makes it sound as if she went from “Mad Love” to “Pirates” to Nelson Riddle to Trio to “Canciones” and didn’t return to pop until later. It makes it sound as if “Get Closer” doesn’t exist.
