Great choice. She sang the theme for the 1989 James Bond film "Licence To Kill." One of the most underrated ones.

Given Gladys' reputation, I daresay this has the potential to be one of the best renditions we have seen of this "war horse" in recent times (if they had only also let her do "Midnight Train To Georgia" as part of the halftime show, given where this game is going to be....)

Gladys is wonderful. While working at a university in the residence hall system you get to meet so many different people. One of my residents and student workers lived next door to "aunt Gladys" whom he referred to a lot. Like Linda, she is a regular genuine person. She always had time for others in her sphere. It is really nice to hear stories about celebrities when they are good stories. Gladys is beyond reproach. Fingers crossed all goes well. It is a difficult song to sing with all its twists and turns.
