Thanks for the very kind words! I play bass in Ronstadt Revue, and I wanted to offer some insight into what we do. I am a HUGE Linda fan, and have been since the 1970s. So are most of the rest of the troops. I LOVED Kenny Edwards and Andrew Gold and Waddy Wachtel and Don Grolnick and Ricky Marotta and Dan Dugmore and Russ Kunkel and Danny Korchmar and all the other great musicians who created those iconic records. When I met Gesenia and heard what she wanted to do here, I just HAD to be a part of it, because I knew just about all of the songs already, including the harmony parts, having seen Linda here in the Philadelphia area MANY times in my youth. Me and our pedal steel player, Jim Cohen, always fight over who had the bigger crush on Linda in 1975! Anyway, it took us over a year to find the talented, like-minded musicians we needed to build this show, but it was worth the wait because they are all stellar. We learn the songs not from charts, but from listening to the original recordings (as well as some of the live stuff) in order to be fairly true to the material without EXACTLY copying it...which is the way we wanted to do this thing. Our keyboardist, the great Dave Hartl, usually creates charts for himself after learning the material from the records. Gesenia is unique in that she can nail the country stuff, pop rock, big band, American standards and even the Mariachi authentically. The guys in the band still get CHILLS when we hear her sing things like Desperado and Lose Again, to name just a few. She is world-class. The hardest part for us is figuring out which songs we have to CUT, because we love them all! It's been very cool for us to hear compliments from people who actually played with Linda (see our website for those details). We would love to come play for you on the West Coast some day. But we are just getting started here in the East, and this will take some time. Please keep an eye on our schedule, as we hope to be ramping things up over the next year. Much love to you all! nick (bass guitar) Truly truly Gesenia Erolin (luv her name!) captures (IMHO 4whatever that's worth!!) Linda hands down on this threads selections......Holly A is great but Gesenia is waaaay up in the mix vocally and can really handle all of Linda's inflections and power to a T! The band is incredulous in working those difficult songs out...and with charts apparently!!! So props to them!!! Now when do we get a left coast show??? More on one of the bands here... They are a solid band and I give them credit for covering the wide range of Linda's songs from country rock to Nelson Riddle to Spanish and some relatively deep cuts..

Welcome nickybass! Glad you found us and we found you. Your video is impressive and the attention to detail that you have all taken to reproduce "that" sound is awesome. Have you guys ever thought about eventually doing your own material outside of Linda's for your own recording? Is this a full time gig or do you all do different things when not together? Keep up the great work and don't be a stranger here.

ronstadtrevue.com/ That's a big 10-4. We definitely have plans to write and record some original material at some point. But as we are just getting this thing started, that has to come later. This is not a full-time endeavor for us, but yeah, we'd sure like it to be some day soon. Our keyboardist, Dave Hartl, is the only full-time musician in the band currently. He plays with many other local area musicians, and has played with Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Andrea Bocelli and numerous other big-name artists. The rest of us have the much-maligned "day jobs", save for our steel player, Jim Cohen, who is happily retired. :-) Love the forum; thanks for creating it! Linda's music is really absent from the airwaves these days, and a SHOCKING number of younger people don't even know who she is. Hopefully we can help put a dent in that.

Well, I'd say Tristan does a fabulous tribute to Linda. She embodies the songs in the Ronstadt manner, capturing her vocal prowess as well as her spirit, and, like the band, seems to really enjoy kicking these songs around. Not only for a singer, but as a player, I'd imagine the eclectic stew of styles they get to play must be a whole lot of fun.
