Late 70s, possibly even 1980: Linda and her "Squad" (to wit, Bonnie Raitt and Maria Muldaur), vintage 1974: The only pic of Linda seen in Ken Burns' recent Country Music series on PBS; she's here singing with Emmylou for the very first time, in Houston in 1973:

Wow, a lot of new pics. Thanks!!!!! I love the Dodgers shirt session. One of the photos was on the back of a picture sleeve for "Back in the USA" (which I have somewhere in stuffdom). She looked like a beautiful china doll. I like the Desert Angel nickname almost as much as Rock n Roll Knitter LOL!!!! eddiejinnj 2450

Linda in Mexican finery, posing with Vikki Carr (she of, among other things, the big 1967 hit "It Must Be Him"):

Okay, I don't want to get in trouble for this and not trying to offend Linda or anybody else but this photo is weird to me .. but did Linda suffer from bad acne at one time or another? Normally her skin looks flawless, even now.. just gorgeous... The above photo looks strange like she has a bad case of acne or scaring? Perhaps it is the lighting or something else.

I don't doubt that she might have had acne issues in her youth (so have I). Even if that were true, though....well, the camera loves Linda (IMHO).

The second paragraph of the TIME cover story begins "Linda is 30 now. Her skin is flawed..."

She was 25 here when I met her face to face. She wore little to no makeup and her skin was flawless. Later on she did suffer from some hormonal/thyroid problems that can wreak havoc with women in particular. Looks fine in that photo to me. When I saw her face to face again 41 years later I was shocked at how clear and smooth her skin was. No cosmetic surgery and she still looks like Linda of old. (or is that Linda of young?) I'm thinking I'm buying whatever she's cookin'. Maybe she got on the skin system Cher was pushing a while back. So I bought a few of her books.

It has been written that Linda "bemoaned" her bad skin. There are other photos where it shows even the Poppy one. I think that stress can cause swelling of old pore problems. Also, she may have had some makeup buildup and this can make such things more noticeable. It has always been her left side. Her number 1 fan would know this :-) Thank God, she seemed to take good care of herself and didn't do massive amts of substances that aged her. Also, considering she is from the desert, she has great skin. eddiejinnj

AZ, did you just pass gas in that photo? Look at the guy's face behind you guys!!!! Just a joke. eddiejinnj 2468 PS: I do love the way the photographer caught her eyes really looking intently. It is a great photo.

Based on the bulletin board does anyone have an idea when and where this photo was from? Looks like Blue Oyster Cult was present as well. ronstadtfanaz, it is most likely from "Day On The Green 1976". Oakland, California, August 3, 1976. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_on_the_Green#1976

That dressing room looks cool but eerie at the same time. Her being alone in a somewhat stark dressing room does illustrate, imo, her "simple dreams." It is cool that the orchid from her inner sleeve photo is in water there. I guess I can't be absolutely sure it is the same one as I am not sure the timing of the photo sessions. KOSH definitely deserved the "Best Album Package Grammy" for that album design. Those eyes in the photo above the awards pic are just so "Mahvelous". eddiejinnj

The closing act was the Eagles and they invited Linda on stage to sing. No Blue Oyster Cult on this one, though they did do a few of them as well. These were done several times a year in Oakland and San Francisco until Graham died in 1991. Billy Graham productions. Linda did it also in 1978.
