That pic was, I believe, from the late summer of 1976, when Linda did a benefit in her hometown for the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, which preserves the rich plant and animal life of the region that Linda grew up with. Though she does talk in her memoir how incredibly harsh the Sonoran Desert is, clearly she had no problems holding a desert fox. She is still one with that part of the world (IMHO).

Just love the picture of the two foxes. The smaller and furrier one resembles the one that tried (unsuccessful) to eat one of our horses the other day. It was hilarious because the horse basically ignored the Fox. Wish I had filmed.
Yes, the one behind her head was quite shy. There is even a movement to make them as house pets.

Quote by ronstadtfanaz re. desert foxes:
Given that they are a sine qua non of the Sonoran Desert region, desert foxes would almost seem to be house pets already, whether anyone wants them to be or not.
I'm glad she talked in her memoir about the natural scenery that she grew up with, including the desert foxes, in her part of the world, given how unbelievably hot it can get in the summer (close to 120 degrees), and the monsoon storms that come at some point during those months as well. She still has that connection to the Sonoran Desert, even if she now lives in the frequently fog-shrouded world that is the Bay Area.

She looks a lot like my mom did in that pic. She had that hair color and length a lot. She was a beautiful woman. God rest her soul!!! eddiejinnj

Somebody else posted it on pinterest and I just linked to it, but it got yanked almost immediately. You can see it on Getty and comes from the same shoot as that last one that everyone's talking about.

OMG Funny gang. Imo, I have never seen Linda's face look thinner than that. The very light background really defines the space between her head and hair. If the curls touched her face, the hairstyle wouldn't be so striking. eddiejinnj
