Most likely 1979 on last pic with perm growing out vs like '81 with buzz cut growing out. Great pic!!! eddiejinnj

Love her top... lace camisole/bustier..Late 70's Linda, which predates Madonna's 80's lace corset.

I love her hair in this photo. I know she had a perm that year, which isn't my favorite hairstyle on her, but in this picture the hair looks fabulous.

Does that make Linda the "Pre-Madonna" of the Rock and Pop World?

Does that make Linda the "Pre-Madonna" of the Rock and Pop World? Well Linda was certainly a chameleon and changed her looks many times, so in that aspect, yes. Her top is lovely and looks good on her tiny frame... she's wearing her undergarments on stage.. lol

Quote by Dianna:
And I think part of it was her desire to feel better about herself onstage, where she never felt quite comfortable enough about performing in front of thousands. I never found anything especially calculating about it, like she was aiming to get a whole lot of attention. She was just doing what she felt was right for herself (IMHO).

When Linda felt she looked pretty good she usually had a better concert. Probably also true when her love or personal life was going good for her. I think that can be said about most performers. We are all victims or prisoners in disguise of our own thoughts.

[/quote] The cowboy boots.. Linda's got that punk -country look. In this photo she reminds me a lot of Siobhan Magnus' style or vice versa..

And whether she was ever aware of it or not, either then or now, Linda was very much paving the path of generations of female artists to follow (IMHO).

This is one of my very favorite Ronstadt photos which evidently was taken by one of our moderators (rob). Hope he doesn't mind I reposted it. as far as interesting and fascinating Ronstadt photos go imo it rivals this one:
