At this point I think Linda needs a hairdo she thinks is manageable given her illness. Personally I like that photo a lot and her hair looks fine to me. Who are the other people in the photo?

I know the first name of the lady to the rt of Linda. Her name is Delores tmk. She did an interview with Linda at Linda's place. They were both interviewed together. Am half asleep. That is "all I know" (jimmy webb reference). eddiejinnj

Hi Sliderocker, Have you read the books from Dr. Bernstein. He is one of the top Drs in Diabetes and I know his book has helped many people reverse complications from Diabetes such as Neuropathy. He was diagnosed himself as a Diabetic when he was a child and explains in his book how he basically saved his own life through a very strict low carb diet. It has helped me a lot with my pre diabetes/insulin resistance. Hope it helps!! Hugs:-)) I've heard of him and I know many doctors encourage sticking to a low-carb diet. At this stage, I'm game for anything and I hope Linda doesn't have neuropathy as a result of her diabetes. Both Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings died from complications related to their diabetic neuropathy, and they weren't that old. I consider neuropathy to be more dangerous than the diabetes, although both can do you in if you don't watch it.

Her hair is okay, don't get me wrong, but I assume she has a personal assistance who helps her with her hair these days, so it's not like she would need to keep it short because of her illness. She's still beautiful no matter what her length of hair, but longer suits her better than short...just my opinion.

Slide I don't know that much about diabetes but it does run in my family. My aunt passed a few years ago. she was on dialysis. she was only 64. My mother has diabetes but controls a lot of it with her diet. Don't quote me because I don't much about the illness but there was a time when my mom was eating sunflower seeds every day..I don't remember the exact diagnosis but she said her dr said she was improving. I told her. maybe it's those sunflower seeds. I have read sunflower seeds are a good food to fight off diabetes. I myself eat 1/2 every day.

I think that last pic is very nice. Man looking at small pic on screen ( not clicking on pic) you would think she is in her 30's 40's. She has a very youthful face. Especially without globbing foundation on. It looks like her hair is slightly longer. I think if she keeps it shortish (made up word lol), having the ends straighter without curling toward her face would be a good look for her. Her hair looks very healthy and soft. Her eyes look good in pic. You can tell much about health from people's eyes. I just know when I worked in a hospital (psychiatric) we would make such observations. This has been my experience professionally but am not a doctor. eddiejinnj

Was Steve Smith one of Linda's roadies? If so, I met him years ago--nice guy. I think that's a great question. Does anyone know who worked for Linda when she toured? From all of the Linda Ronstadt concerts I attended, I'd say that whoever they were, they always did a splendid job of presenting her.

I think Linda looks fantastic. What is all of this fuss about her hair? Come on. Do you know how silly she would think of people being concerned about that. ?

You'll get no argument from me on that. There's too much of a lot of other things to talk about when it comes to Linda, starting with the fact that it was just plain wonderful that, even with Parkinson's, she was still wonderfully able to come back to the part of the world where she gave so much of herself, both in terms of her life and her abilities. I think to talk about her hairstyle raises what she feels went askew with L.A. in the 80s, an overwhelming emphasis on looks, image, and glamour.

I'm not making that much of a fuss as she still looks great and beautiful in my eyes. I just happen to think longer hair suits her looks more than the shorter hair. In a way, it's kind of weird about that as a lot of girls I dated would tell me I needed to get a hair cut and a shave. I was a long hair and had a beard for a very long time. What was weird was they thought it was alright to make comments about a guy's looks but guys were being sexist if they made a comment about a woman's looks. If it's not fair one way, it's not fair the other way either. But, Linda looks fine to me though I'd still like to see her with long hair again.

I don't know if it is a conscience effort on her part to keep her hair shorter because its easier to deal with or she might just like it. I know I have to keep mine shorter. In fact I just got mine cut last week. On those days, which are most days now for me, it is hard to raise your hands up over your head to wash your hair when you have Parkinson's. That is a fact. I have a question. What are you guys going to do next year when she turns 70 ?

That lifestyle and culture in L.A. never was Linda and never will be. Just one of the many reasons she is so appealing to me and so many people. Personally, I think she looks absolutely gorgeous for her age. Not that she is that old. My mom is two years older than Linda and she looks very young as well.

Sliderocker. I wasn't singling you out. Well, I am the one who prefers Linda in longer hair, although Linda had some short hair styles that were a very good fit for her. I just don't think the hair style she has now suits her, although I can understand it might be more manageable for her. But, here again, she may have a personal assistant who helps her with the things she has trouble doing or can no longer do on her own. (That's a sad thought...) On Linda turning 70 next year, I will feel a tinge of sadness for her, that she has reached an age where a lot of human beings leave this world sometime during that decade of their lives. And I'll pray for her, that she lives a good, long time without too much pain and suffering from her various ailments. As much as she has dealt with during her 60s, it's all the more remarkable she is still with us. Look at how many of her contemporaries have passed on, both close to her or from her generation. Kenny Edwards was only a few months older than her while Andrew Gold was five years younger. Both gone. And though I'll feel that tinge of sadness, I'll also celebrate her, that she is still with us. She's not old in my eyes and she never will be as I'm only eight years younger. Age is something we can't do anything about. As a line from an unreleased Bee Gees song puts it, "there's no well known remedy to all the years gone by." We all have a day coming that's inevitable and every day Linda is here is a day to celebrate. And I'd rather not dwell on the time in the future when she is no longer here, other than hoping that when that day happens, I'd rather not be here myself.

Linda looked wonderful and yes, very pretty! She sounded just like she did when I spoke with her on the phone. She looks so much healthier now than she did even two years ago when she was promoting her book. I hope she can continue to do appearances like this from time to time. She is a trooper, that's for sure. We all have to continue to keep her in our prayers every night.

Quote by Dianna:
Well Linda used that term as far back as a 2003 interview she did with the now-defunct Country Music Magazine. She's 100% right on this, in my opinion; and it's an opinion shared by her former drummer and still good friend Don Henley. There just isn't any sense of the rural anymore, not even songs of wide-open highways, honky-tonks, and heartbreak, which Linda clearly finds rather depressing.
