I really hate it when people go overboard with these abbreviations, but I just couldn't help myself this time.
Translation: For what it's worth, just heard Different Drum at International House of Pancakes.

Coasttocoastam Saturday Night edition. Midnight in Phoenix. You're No Good being played to over 3 million listeners. Richard is a Linda fan. He has played much of her music when he is the host. Richard Syrett host: conspiracyshow.strangeplanet.ca/Richard is a Canadian and a bit on the conservative side. I let him know when he speaks of things he knows nothing about like Liberalism in the USA. Otherwise he is a good host and is into conspiracies which I find most fascinating. Other hosts are into strictly ghosts or strictly UFO's but I prefer the conspiracy and political stuff as well as healing/spiritual topics.

I forgot to post last Sunday but my partner called me that Linda was coming on wjrz 100.1 fm at the jersey shore. He heard something about honoring something. It was most likely because she had gotten the "Lifetime Achievement Grammy" the night before. They played YNG. eddiejinnj

This is stretching "Linda on the radio" a bit since the radio is not involved with this tale. Nevertheless I did have an interesting Linda day. ( not the actress) First while allegedly working I stumbled onto the Simpson's Yellow Album and lo and behold there was Linda and Homer aka Dan Castellaneta doing a version of Ain't it funny how time slips away. And it was really good! I'm probably the only one on this forum who wasn't aware of this gem. Ain't it funny how Linda can make anyone a singer, even non-real yellow fat guys. Also in the first verse Linda does something I never heard her do- speak part of a line- quite cool!
The second thing-a little more radio related was later at lunch at a Mexican Restaurant in Evansville IN I heard La Cigarra and La Rielera it was pretty noisy in the restaurant but it was unmistakably Linda. This was not Canciones because there were a couple songs between the ones I mentioned that weren't Linda that I never heard. Either someone at the restaurant made a mix tape with Linda in it or there is a commercially available Mexican Restaurant mix tape out there that includes Linda, either one is kind of a neat concept. Anyway if you ever get to Evansville go to "El Charro" restaurant on Sontag Ave. it's got wonderful Mexican food and Linda.

Linda had some guest appearances on other Mariachi artists recordings which may be what you heard also. I had the occasion to be eating at Aunt Chilada's in Phoenix a while back when Linda came on their music mix just as I was making my choice. I commented to the waitress about the music and she didn't know who Linda was but liked the song and was glad I liked the music. Now I am craving an enchilada. Gee, thanks Moe.

Reminds me, Last week on NPR's American Routes, they had a segment on Flaco Jiménez and he talked about how nervous he was singing with Linda - and they played part of their duet.

This isn't "On the Radio", but it's still pretty cool. The Hallmark TV Channel is playing Linda's version of Heat Wave in the background of their commercials for their summer programs and movies. If you're not familiar with it, the Hallmark Channel is a cable channel that shows many repeats of older shows like The Golden Girls and I Love Lucy. They also show many original movies, most of which are light, romantic comedies. I'll often put I Love Lucy on in the morning when I'm getting ready for work, and they are playing the commercial with Linda's Heat Wave quite a bit...at least twice per half hour show!

11 pm Arizona (Mountain Time) Coasttocoastam International late night radio show with millions of listeners played Different Drum. Richard Syrett from Canada is the host. He mentioned Linda being the Stone Poneys lead, that Mike Nesmith wrote the song and that the Monkees had a new album out to critical acclaim.

Back up in the north woods of Minnesota in Aikley,MN at the Woodtick Music Theatre. Yep that's really the name of the theatre. The Woodtick band plays a variety of music. One of the band members introduced the next song she was going to sing " Here is a Everley Brothers song I heard when I was young. I thought it was ok ,not that great, until later when Linda Ronstadt recorded it then I fell in love with the song." She then sang Its so Easy. These North w woods folks really know good music!

WFUV-FM radio station has a daily "Question of the Day" with a different song theme each time. Today's question:With today's azure skies we're asking, "How Blue Can You Get?" Show us with songs about blue skies, blue feelings or anything else blue.
I submitted my suggestions of several of Linda's "blue" songs and they did play Blue Bayou. One of the listeners replied to me that she would be great to hear a complete set of Linda Ronstadt songs that mention the word "blue." There are many...
