I believe she did some songs from "Get Closer" and "What's New" as well. David played a clip of the "What's New" video; Paul Shaffer and his band laughed. Linda explained that they were laughing because they knew Danny Kortchmar, who played her boyfriend in the video.
Jeff "I think the surest sign that there is intelligent life in the universe is that it hasn't tried to contact us"-Carl Sagan (and Calvin of "Calvin & Hobbes")

I remember that appearance as well. She was on Late Night with David Letterman in September 1983, promoting the "What's New" album. I have the video but it's not on YouTube. I can't remember where I got it from actually. If I can figure out how to post it here I will.

Thanks for posting that; I hadn't seen Dave spend this much time with a musical guest in like forever. He seemed to get a kick out of Linda's answers...

Thanks for posting that. I really liked Dave's show back then. The set was simple, and Dave's wardrobe.....if you want to call it that.....was very casual. I had a shirt like his.....LOL.
Of course Linda was as beautiful as ever, also down-to-earth, very pleasant......the same qualities she's always had and still does today. And the way Dave interviewed his guests then.....it all just seemed so much more informal back then.

Wow Thanks for posting this! I've never seen this before! Love her outfit in this! Any chance you could put this on youtube!? Or would you mind if I did so I could play it on my TV? Never want to assume I can post anything without permission! But either way.. thanks for sharing this! Cheers

Member Tom posted this cleaner video of Linda's September 1983 appearance on Letterman. I am glad Linda clarifies why there is laughter during the video. Letterman is a bit snarky, but that's who he is --
