Just finished watching the PBS' "Great Performances" concert with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga (and guest Chris Botti).
A few years ago Lady Gaga had a Thanksgiving special on ABC and Tony Bennett was one of her guests and the two sang a duet of a standard and I liked it a lot. She showed a completely different side to herself. And then she appeared on Bennett's "Duets II" album and TV special and once again I thought she acquitted herself nicely.
I read in an interview with her that she originally wanted to be a jazz singer but that she couldn't get gigs so she went the pop route.
