Am enjoying Michael G. Ronstadt's (Mike the younger) new album (pre-ordered on Kick-Starter as a B-day present to Linda). It has a bit of the flavor of Ronstadt Generations (a must see if you like Linda's music) but, like all art, is also different. Anyone else get the album? Thoughts?

Who is this? Or...? I'm curious to know if this is a someone new asking for "Thoughts"? A long-time Board member, by whose name we'd have some context, OR some random ship passing in the night?

It's I, 70sMusicFan - have been a member for a while, but usually am too lazy to login before posting. Everyone on this board is usually concentrated on Linda's life and recordings, and I am also interested in similar music and other's opinions. I've seen Ronstadt Generations a few times (Linda's brother and nephews) and enjoy the Americana (what they call true Country nowadays) and Mexican music they perform. When Mike the elder talks about family Sunday gatherings and playing music together at their concerts, it reminds me of simpler times. Her nephew, Mike the younger, is a master cellist and his music is quite interesting as well.
I really enjoy buying and listening to the albums that Linda guested on - there are great finds like Karla Bonoff, Valerie Carter, Hoyt Axton, Seldom Scene (I could go on and on). Unfortunately, many of these CDs are no longer available.
So - the question about Crooked Fiddle was an honest one. Interested in starting a dialog about Linda-related and inspired music.

www.phoenixvillenews.com/arts-and-entertainment/20140919/phoenixville-cellist-with-musical-legacy-set-to-release-folk-rock-collaborationNice interview with Linda's nephew Mikey on the new record and of course he credits his Aunt as an inspiration. He is also cute in aJackson Browne kind of way. I have Prelude by Ronstadt Generations and gave them some support on their recent kickstarter campaign for a UK tour. Occasionally the band is played on a NPR show called "Woody's Children". Wonderful musicianship and wildly eclectic(no surprise there). It is a pleasure to listen to and I look forward to hearing this record - they do a version of All along the Watchtower - I believe?
