I don't want to nitpick, but has anyone noticed that the first collection has "The Tracks Of My Tears" spelled wrong (there's no "r" in the way they spelled "Tracks")?
I am kind of a stickler for such things.

dreadful ripoffs .... no thought has gone into the first one. It will provide a really jarring listening experience

"Tacks of my Tears" is just sad. Are these compilations produced in other countries where English is not spoken? Does Linda have any input at all or are these records simply being thrown together by some business people hoping to make a quick buck and to cash in on Linda's current notoriety? I did hear "Tracks of my Tears" on 104.9 The Surf on Hilton Head Island, SC, earlier today...I'd forgotten how much I like her version of this song. Very strong and very sensitive at the same time!

You do have to wonder about licensing.
If you have an iTunes account, do a search for Linda Ronstadt. In the Albums section, select "See All." Besides Linda's own albums and officially-sanctioned compilations and karaoke tracks, there are about a hundred (OK, not a hundred but a lot) of compilation CDs with names like:
Greatest Classic Country Performances Cajun Nuggets Folk Got Soul Country Divas Greatest Women of Classic Country Star Spangled Country Amazing Classic Country
...oh, the list goes on.
All are put out by something called "X5 Music Group" and each and every one of these compilations feature a track by Linda from "Adieu False Heart" (Savoy gets no mention at all), most usually "Walk Away Renee", but also "Rattle My Cage", "King of Bohemia", "Plus Tu Tournes", etc.
Very strange. It's almost as if Linda's music suddenly became public domain!
And then we have the myriad "tribute to Linda Ronstadt" compilations by something called "Ameritz Tribute" with various anonymous generic-sounding female singers performing Linda's songs.
One or two five-second listens will have you screaming "tribute me arse!"
