Just speaking for myself, though, the last thing Linda needed to be when she was at the peak of her popularity was a fashion plate. Leave that to Madonna or Beyoncé or T-Swift.

Yes. Leave the fashion part to the people that need a diversion from their ability to sing. Linda never needed that. Although I thought she dressed pretty cool. I've said it before but its worth repeating. I truly admire the person she grew into through out the years.file online

Linda definitely needed a stylist on a lot of occasions - when seemingly she didn't have one! Love her to pieces but she wasn't always the best dressed You are right. Lol More than likely she would say "who cares and don't those people have something better to do. "

That happens to be my favorite photo of her. Could she be more gorgeous?

The "fashion police" would have had a field day with her--not the best taste, but there were a few cute outfits along the way!

Interesting question-what would Linda think of this little group? For what it's worth here is my take: She would appreciate the politics she being a dedicated lefty like a lot of us. I think she would be impressed by the collective musical knowledge on display here (I know I am). On material related to her directly she most likely would be puzzled by the attention given to things past. ( that last sentence sounded like I was channeling Yoda ) Anyhow I think she would be more interested in what is happening now. Which brings me to what I believe she would see as negative: our somewhat brutal treatment of artists we don't like. Having been a pro and having to struggle for a buck at first and for her vision of her art later I think she would be more tolerant of anyone who feels the desire to get involved in the arts. (I still think TS is an assault on the nation's collective eardrums)
Changing the subject, if the album featured in the start of this thread is the same Sausalito session from KSAN that I downloaded from this very forum on July 24 last year then I most likely would get it. It was a studio recording, about an hour long, of what was a live session but it felt more like a rehearsal-very loose and relaxed. It would be nice to hear the session on a quality medium.

I think you are point on. I have wondered what the make up of this group is also. How many of us are there? As I have enjoyed reading this blog since this summer I have wondered about who is who. ? I'm an AV consultant from Central New York. Been in the field about 30 years. I think my draw to Linda is that I grew up with her music. Loved her for her raw talent and never hesitating to try something new. Lastly I'm in the middle of the crazy game of being diagnosed with Parkinson's. Maybe that's my link to Linda.

No, Fontella Bass’s “Rescue Me” was Chess.

I prefer the outake photo of Linda holding a cup of liquid refreshment.
