[Slight edit to jason73's post] It's amazing how there's not much difference in her look or hairstyle between these two photos, considering they're what?, 13 years apart or so? And both baring shoulders! But the first one just seems to be a more elegant Linda. Not that I am knocking the second one at all. No way! But Linda just looks, IDK, graceful. (Not really sure what I am trying to say other than she looked great!)
Like you Jason, I was watching that Grammy show in 1990 and didn't think much of Linda or the song back then. But many years later I now realized what I missed out on, although I have some dvd compilation that has their duet performance. I guess it was that my taste in music back then was more for the harder stuff.
BTW, isn't this Grammy Award show the last appearance by her (not counting the Latin Grammy one)?

am so glad she has been lookin healthier in her eyes in the last couple years. used to be a professional at a hospital and you could alwys tell (generally not professional medical advice) that people looked and felt better by the way their eyes looked. I hope she feels and is doing well!!!! eddiejinnj

Will have to look up to see whatever became of Annie's financial troubles some time back--if she had to sell her portraits in order to meet her debt obligations. Imagine purchasing one of these original Leibovitz prints of Linda? If I remember well, Annie was over $20 million in the hole.
Which puzzles me how these people of such wealth can blow it all, or even accumulate debt at all. No financial advisers, lawyers or accountants to help out? Gee, that would be the first ones I'd get if I got into substantial wealth.
Leibovitz may have had a financial adviser, accountant and lawyer but really, just because one has them if they are wealthy, that is no guarantee they are going to save your money or invest wisely. What if her advisors had invested her money with the money market firms in New York that took their investors's money and blew it or gave it to themselves as bonuses for their chicanery? Also, if the bulk of her money was made back in the 60s and 70s and she cut back on her work as she got older, that would mean she'd be relying on whatever money she had in the bank for living expenses. It's possible that what was in the bank in her checking account wasn't as much as what she thought was there.

Come April we'll have one of these from Linda with Jann Wenner and her HOF statue.

I know you jest, of course (LOL). Anyway, she still has a lot of antipathy towards Wenner (or vice versa), making any meeting between the two, even if she showed up (which, as she recently said, wasn't very likely for health reasons), likely to end in a shouting match.

If anything was to come of the two somehow being in the same space together, I suppose they'd be all nice and friendly for the cameras...which would probably last only as long as the cameras were present. But, I'd love to see Linda, in ill health as she is, just deck the dickens out of Wenner. Of course, she'd be too much of a lady to do that.

Yes, and why waste your time on a pompous a** like his high holy eminence Mr. Wenner when you are better off spending your time (if, on the off-chance, that Linda shows up) giving warm embraces to your peers and your friends instead?

This was part of the 1983 Willie Nelson fourth of july picnic tour, I saw her in the Syracuse Carrier Dome on July second. I remember it quite well because of Linda's incredible performance. The line up included Emmy Lou Harris, Merle Haggard, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and of course Willie. Linda was electrifying from the start. She blew the roof off of the Carrier Dome. I have never before or since seen a more talented energized singer. As I recall she did a lot of Heart Like a Wheel songs. In my book she is the best of the best.

I saw her that summer on the Commons in Boston. It was July 22, 1983. My oldest daughter was born early the next morning. I made it but let me tell you it was close!

In the picture with jerry brown she has barely any make up and she looks like a little girl (adorable). She has always looked much younger than she really is. I think it's her beautiful soul that shines through.

On the other hand, look at how much makeup Dolly has on - her cheeks are almost the same colour as her blouse . I love that pic though!

I can't imagine Linda flying in a small aircraft like that, ever. Probably the first and last time.

That concert was fantastic! Great line-up of artists and you're right about Linda's stellar performance. The pink gingham poodle dress she wore was just adorable. Looks like the humidity got to her hair--it was a lot straighter when she first walked in (lol). Gosh, I wish it was 1983...

First time poster and I need some help please. I want to add a photo to this thread but for some reason it shows up really tiny as opposed to the beautiful large photos others have posted. Any ideas as to why that would be? Thanks!

Let's you input pictures, videos, etc. - avoid "Quick Reply" button on bottom. I did originally try the reply button on top and added the photo as an attachment but it basically showed up a thumbnail. I noticed some other posters photos show up that way as well whereas others are full sized and beautiful. Perplexed.

Do my eyes deceive me, or is Linda wearing her retainer in that photo? Maybe she rolled out of bed to celebrate with Jerry and friends? Either way, it's a great photo.

I also saw the retainer in that photo but wasn't sure. She just didn't care! ......... I read in an interview she said that she once wore rollers on her head with a handkerchief on top for a Grammy presentation. She did it so her hair would look good for the after party! How cute is that?
