Linda did have a pumpkin head for a while there (Trio 2), probably due to her thyroid condition. Dharun Ravi's head looks like a light bulb. Weird topic, eh?

That's funny about skull size of celebs. I've seen a few too up close and did not notice anything unusual or over sized in the skull area. lol.. It could be the angle of mr plant and then tons of hair. other than kelsey grammer /frasier crane and the robert plant photo I've never noticed an irregular oversized head shape on a celeb. lol. I also don't think the size of a person which makes them appear wimpy or not resillient either.. it's all about the tude'

It's, of course, not about being tough, it's about being resillient. I tend to agree that people may be thrown off by how small some celebrities are, small as in having to do with their height. Celebrities tend to be regarded as larger than life and I think people tend to buy into the belief the taller you are, the more successful you are. That's not always true. Linda is just barely over five foot. I don't know about Tift Merritt or Regina Spektor, but I know of other celebrities - male and female - who aren't as tall as some people think. As for not being tough, there are probably a few male chauvinists who think that way but as to the number who truly think that way, I don't know. Toughness is probably something they wouldn't be thinking about.

I remember that photo but still couldn't see Linda and Robert Plant dating any more than I could see Linda and Mick Jagger dating. Just thinking about Linda dating Jagger gives me the willies. I totally agree with you there! I couldn't see her with either one, especially Jagger! YUCK! I know there were rumors about her and Jagger. But it was all tabloid garbage. In one magazine she reportedly denied ever sleeping with him. Also, it seemed that whenever Linda was seen publicly with someone and/or photographed with them, she was automatically linked with that person romantically. I read an article online that should confirm the truth about Jagger. I'm sure she wouldn't have lied about it. This was an interview with Linda in Family Weekly from January 8, 1984: Q: Does it bother you to have the press constantly scrutinizing your love life? Ronstadt: I think it's stupid. I think, "Who cares?" They don't get it right 95 percent of the time. It's totally beside the point. Q: Did it annoy you that the media talked about Linda Ronstadt and Mick Jagger, Linda Ronstadt and Jerry- Ronstadt: I never had a romance with Mick Jagger. You know what I mean? He's a friend of mine; we used to play music together sometimes; I sang with him on stage once. I just had another thought. What about the Chip Carter rumor? I thought that was ridiculous. I read a little about it in a biography on Linda, but it didn't make much sense to me. There isn't much information on it, probably because it was just a rumor and nothing more. Does anyone know anything about it?

the head thing, yes, it is a weird topic. if one's face gets bloated from weight/illness etc it might make their head bigger but......... IMO no reason to equate anybody with a pumpkin. eddiejinnj

Good to go through this post! I was an opiate addict and used to take drugs daily and it was like impossible to overcome it. One of my friends told me about virginia opiate addiction treatment center. Went in there for treatment and received really effective treatment that helped me to overcome the addiction.

Linda is not gay. Gay friendly but not gay herself. She would have been quite vocal about it if she were. That would be an impossible thing for someone in the spotlight to hide for very long.
The Linda and drugs thing is way overblown. Stems back to a Rolling Stone interview that keeps getting repeated or blown out of proportion to reality.

I think the Time Magazine cover story that she did back in February 1977 gave the impression she used drugs off/on as well. I believe it was overblown in Time Magazine and Rolling Stone.

Keef's drug use was somewhat exaggerated. He quit heroin after his 1977 arrest in Toronto.

Linda was one of a kind. All this stuff about her personal life is just too stupid to comment on. Think about it! She hooked up with whoever, was a nervous wreck on stage and was in general, very insecure. Having said that, she will go down in musical history as the greatest female vocalist ever...IMO.

Right,,,all the whilst you basically sum up her persona as an irresponsible neurotic Validated for the Patriarchal Ages by way of her Vocal/Performance existential temporal lobes.
Think About it....me.....I'm looking towards the eastern gates of January 12, when we truly start the Age of Aquarius with Saturn and Pluto dancing over........................

I appreciate how you are pointing out the Saturn Pluto "effect" might go "both ways" ie. bigger business with some systems overturn.....there is another school of thought...that this will be internalized....ie.. some will "ascend" their conciousness and transcend the pain of the "systems" in place/overthrown and others left behind...to flounder....I'm praying for Higher Overthrow....how's that? this is happening on my beloved deceased sisters' birthday,,,,she used to work directly for His Holiness on the Free Tibet stuff.....I'm further inspired its more of an internal revolution of sorts demanded by systems change, effecting us all, drugs be damned...BE HERE NOW

Maybe we need a re-do of the musical HAIR. The way things are going maybe a knock off musical named BALD would be more appropriate. I am a political animal so I glum onto those forecasts first. The outer world seems to trump the inner world if we let it.

On the new CNN documentary, one of the guys said she was heavy into diet pills to keep herself "skinny-skinny." I think I can believe that.

That's an easy one. Women are attracted to funny guys.

Quote by RLW: I think it was David Geffen who said that. Diet pills were indeed Linda's prime pharmaceutical "obsession", such as it was. She was always insecure about her weight during the apex of her popularity. There was an article in Rolling Stone on Linda which highlighted her insecurity about her weight. She had gained weight, and had gone on a diet of eating nothing but oranges. Think it was just for a week, but she lost something like twelve pounds. I don't know if that diet was approved by her physician or dietician (if she had one), but it's a miracle she didn't seem to suffer any serious health problems. Doctors these days recommend that if you're trying to lose weight, you don't lose more than one or two pounds per week. I think the reason is you can lose too much of your electrolytes and you end up with all sorts of problems. Karen Carpenter's anorexia nervosa which killed her caused her to lose too many electrolytes, which may have been the cause of her heart stopping. And one rumor about Elvis was that he was losing too much weight in too short a time and then regaining the weight also in too short a time, and his body wasn't able to handle it because of the loss of the electrolytes. And that caused his heart to stop. Fortunately, Linda's dieting didn't lead to any serious health complications. Maybe she listened to her doctor and stayed away from every fad diet there was, which promised someone they would lose weight and keep it off.`

There are 2 articles I remember. One Linda said "Of course" discussing drugs, another Linda said what did & did not make her sick, but she experimented, to help with the loneliness of road life.
Yet another article mentioned her nose having to be cauterised twice.
A photo of Linda curled on a bus seat shows her looking zonked IMO.
Bonnie Raitt said "you don't go home and drink milk" after a show is over.
